There were living organisms which were looking at me So, there also I couldn't kill it then, I went farther away, in the desert, as there won't be anyone there so, went to the desert and when I tried to kill it there then, a snake was there now a snake is there; a camel arrived How should I kill? Then I went to some other place; then, I kept searching for another place then, in the ground, I I found a tunnel, I went inside that tunnel too and reached such a place, where neither any living organism nor any creature was there; and the existence of a human being doesn't even make sense he said, in that darkness as I went ahead to kill the pigeon, then the pigeon's two eyes were looking at me even if no one else sees but the pigeon is watching and its those staring eyes when I looked into them how could I take its life? So, giving up, I have returned now that I can't find such a place where I can go and kill this pigeon So, tell me what the king must have done he gave it to the third son the one, who has so much kindness inside that who, he is being sent to kill, even in it's eyes he sees that pity and in it's eyes too, he sees the hope of living this sensitive who is so compassionate should be the king The gist of the story comes out to be this that, when you commit some error you might never get caught but you actually, you have already been caught and you can't even run away from it and you can't even deny that so, it is very important to remember this thing that we are never alone Paramatman (the supreme self) in the form of Omkar, where is that Paramatman? is all-pervasive the one who is all-pervasive is always with me is in every place is in every heart is in every particle is in every place is present every time and the one who stays with me everywhere I, in his presence how can I do something wrong? How can I even think of doing something wrong? and if I still do wrong so, the force of this karma when its time to punish will arrive then, we will not be able to find any excuse to deny it we say that we didn't do it it's not our fault In Gurbani, a very beautiful line comes "Dadda dosh na deo kise dosh karma apnea jo mein kia so main paya, dosh na dije awar jana" whatever we get that's our own karma's result that we receive that is why, before doing anything one should think before saying anything, one should think before doing anything one should think and we can befool humans but we won't be able to befool Ishvara and we can't even fool ourselves, how will we be able to forget that we have performed this action but difficulty is this many times People do not even have knowledge of what is wrong and what is right Many times, not acknowledging a wrong thing as wrong, they keep on doing it by thinking of it as the right thing and many times because of this ignorance, one after another, we open a huge account of misdeeds The Sages have said that always remember this thing that, firstly Ishvara is always with you and secondly nothing vanishes from Ishvara's sight and thirdly you the kind of action you will do the fruit of that action definitely reaches you that is why before doing anything before speaking anything one must think a hundred times I am saying 'speaking', because the story of Mahabharata you must have seen it Mahabharata's war that took place in Kurukshetra that war's beginning it happened with only one statement that was uttered by Draupadi one statement which she had said to Duryodhana- "a blind person's blind son" it is just this much "blind person's blind son", and that lethal smile that smile had ripped Duryodhana apart though, earlier as well there was no affection between the Pandavas and the Kauravas Earlier also, their fight was always on but with this statement, the war's foundation had been laid what do we say? think What should we do? Think We are discussing the real form of Paramatman (the supreme self) the original form is truth conscious bliss and all-pervasive truth ever blissful ever conscious and omniscient one that is present everywhere you are the drop as well as the ocean Bindu means a drop sindhu means the ocean In a drop and in the ocean, there is the same water You are Brahma and You are Vishnu You are formless and you are boundless and we are also a part of that boundless Paramatman (the supreme self) we are not separate from it we are not different from it everybody can get separated; they get separated like you came here for the retreat so your family, your parents everyone is distant from you, at this time you are living here but, is it possible that we have to live apart from Paramatman Is it possible that God becomes displeased with us? Often, this filmy dialogue plays when someone goes through troubled times, he says 'God is displeased with me' that God is displeased God cannot be upset with anybody like sugar candy is always sweet sugar candy can never be salty have you ever eaten a sugar candy which is salty? No Have you ever eaten such a neem.. which is sweet? No when neem can never be sweet when sugar candy can never be bitter in the same way, Paramatman is an embodiment of bliss; with anybody, he does not become displeased....okay if he does not get displeased with us, then is he pleased with us? I ask you a question if God is never displeased with us then should we derive it's meaning as.. that he is pleased with us No, he isn't pleased as well then what? you said no, how? no, not about karma, what I just said if God never gets displeased with us so can we take this meaning that he is pleased with us Dear brother like when someone fights, then they say- you and I 'unfriend' each other so, if God cannot remove us from being his friend then, why would God befriend us again? The sutra that I want to give you is that God is neither happy nor angry with anyone Like you slipped and fell on the ground you broke your leg so, did the ground hold any enmity against you? will someone file a case against the ground? that it broke my leg and even if anyone thinks of doing this, then people will say- are you mad what has the ground got to do with breaking your leg, what will it derive out of doing this? If you will go against the law of gravity, then you will get injured the ground doesn't hurt you Similarly, the law of karma if you go against that law, then the punishment is being given by karma Ishvara is neither happy with you, nor is Ishvara upset with you, then what is Ishvara doing? that's the joy of Ishvara, that despite not doing anything, everything is happening because of his power this is why, we refer to Ishvara as the unchangeable one 'vikaar' means changeable today someone is happy, tomorrow someone gets upset today, mother and father are happy tomorrow, they might get upset Today, their mood is good if in their personal life, some problem comes related to relatives or office and if their mood is bad then, on you too they start screaming, so their moods are changeable this is what we call as vikaari- the changeable But Paramatman (the supreme self) is non changeable is always blissful so, whenever you are in a trouble, whenever your mind feels sadness, whenever your mind feels loneliness do not run to any human being for solace, go inwards to the Lord who is always blissful you will get all your peace and calmness right from God you need go to anywhere to anyone to any place a human being is very theatrical he can't be trusted today, he is this way; tomorrow, he is in a different way if it's in his interest then he will beseech you, and if it does not lie in his interest then will not even recognize you- okay! who are you but, one one place is such one existence is such wherein, this kind of occurrence of deception stands no chance; wherein, this kind of mistreatment and maltreatment can't happen with us you are a drop and you are the ocean; You are Brahma, You are Vishnu; You are formless You are non-changeable you are in the sky, you are in the air who has surrounded me from everywhere, and who always stays with me when am I alone? never Can I ever be alone? Never Can I ever be weak? Never Whenever you feel yourself to be a weakling, that is only when you forget this truth The day, this thing not just a thing the day this thing becomes your experience on that day you will live in a complete unworried manner perform actions, work hard, things are received and then there is no guarantee as- what you have received will not go anywhere here, things are received, only to be eventually withdrawn no issue but there is one who once is received, does not go away from you, never leaves you and that is why it is necessary to pray Why? like if you have seen the solar light or solar heating system so, that panel if we keep its face towards the sun then the sun rays are absorbed inside it and its cells store that energy and from that energy you can turn on fans, lights or heat the water or can use it in any other way solar panel should be installed Now, if we turn the face of Solar panel against the Sun or if, on top of the solar panel, we leave clothes for drying Now the sunlight will not reach to the cells and no energy will get stored in the cells so, whatever usage we were supposed to do, now we can't do that so you need to place your solar panels facing the Sun Similarly by turning our mind towards Ishvara, the energy of Ishvara, the power of Ishvara is received by us, so we become powerful; but if our mind from Ishvara we keep it turned against it keep it towards the world then, from where will we receive the power? Just as the body gets energy from food similarly, mind gets power from prayer Now we are not saying this that you should keep praying from morning till night, because it is not possible for you Right But we are definitely trying to say that your day should start with prayer Why? Just like a solar panel if it is towards the sun then definitely energy will get stored in it Similarly, when you will pray then your mind goes towards Ishvara and from Ishvara, you will get that power, energy, knowledge intelligence, health, all this is received from there So, today morning we talked about this- that by waking up early in the morning and by doing yogasanas, the benefits derived from vitamin D and the benefit from yogasanas strengthens our body makes it strong But how will our mind become strong? so, prayer is needed to strengthen the mind now when I say prayer it does not mean that you merely start speaking a prayer written by someone like there's a book in front of me of a sant, in which many prayers have been given but it is their feeling, not yours When I say that you should pray in the morning, then I am pointing towards some system which you should follow and the best system of praying can be chanting of mantra When you do the mantra chanting, you empower your mind with the sound vibrations What is a sound? It is a wave It is a vibration and every sound wave has a great impact on our body on our limbic system, on our brain, on our mind
