ओ३म् नमः शिवाय का अर्थ AV Ep 1456 l Daily Satsang l 14th Feb 22 Anandmurti Gurumaa

The meaning of Om is that which is the foundation and substratum of Prakriti comprising of three gunas it is the foundation that is why it is called 'Truth' it gives consciousness that's why it is called 'Conscious' its essence is 'Ananda' (bliss) and is beyond the dimensions of space, time and matter that's why it is called pervasive so 'Sat-chit-ananda vyapak' (truth-conscious-bliss-pervasive) is called 'Pranav', 'Om' phonetically and this Om relates to human-language it has emanated from linguistics but the truth is that at the cellular level the sound vibration similar to Om is happening the one whose mind always wanders in the world, through the senses he will never be able to know this all the efforts of a seeker are aimed at this only how to withdraw the senses and dissolve them in the mind how to turn the mind in subjugation to the intellect how to make the intellect refined with the higher wisdom then when the intellect gets refined with the higher wisdom where the mind becomes devoid of all thoughts, anti-thoughts, resolves and mind entered that supreme emptiness within mind became mindless and then in this state before the happening of this dive within this 'Pranav', which is also called 'Anhad' at some places then this comes to be experienced giving a word to this very experience, Rishi called it 'Om' but actually Om is not the defining letter of that reality of Brahman but this sound present in prakriti its thorough dispersion that is happening, Rishi experiences that dispersion within him so, if we ask what and who is God, then the closest word if we want to say through words then 'Om' stands above all it has nothing to do with Hindu or Sanatana dharma Sanatana means 'the eternal' that which is eternal...'dharma' means that which is the nature, the attributes of eternity that is Sanatana dharma Dharma doesn't mean a sect the one who is connected to his fundamental attribute so that fundamental attribute, for you as well as for me of this whole world is one and the same and that is Sanatan and that is truth and that is conscious Now, the one who knows this who understands this, he is a Sadhu he is wise, he is meditative and those who have not experienced this they are still caught in matters pertaining to their respective sects Om Namaha Namaha...Namaha means to bow down Shivaya...Shivaya means blissful who is an embodiment of bliss and remember...the one whose essence would be 'bliss' that can't be untrue what's not the truth can't provide bliss this body of ours...is it true or false? it is untrue, it's a resultant is momentary, is changeable, is decayable have a look at your 30-years-old photo...how you looked back then see now...you yourself don't like your own face the one who is 70 years of age today...if he sees his 59-years-old photo is that body the same even today? it has changed.....it has changed when one is born then teeth are not there, in some time the growth of teeth happens and then with time, these teeth which are received here, they disappear here itself they come one by one and go one by one only you get these beautiful hair here only then as you keep seeing them, they begin to disappear one by one it is received here and it disappears here itself power, strength, bravery, health body is born with these, then gradually they start disappearing, eyes will see less, ears will hear less hands will work less, there will be difference in memory-retention, one will begin to forget things and there won't be control over one's own bladder moreover, he will keep asking others - which magic potion should I apply so that my youth comes back it is received here and it disappears here itself which is not stable, which is unstable that is untrue, since it's momentary that's why it is unstable and since it is unstable that's why it is untrue and what is not the truth, that can't give me the supreme bliss what isn't the truth is inert what is inert, that inert thing can't give me bliss so Shivaya means that blissful form this is the fundamental essence of Shiva see...if I go by the Upanishadic language then Shiva has been referred to as Brahman if I go by words of Puranas then here Shiva has been referred to as 'Maha Vishnu' if I go by Devi Purana then there this ultimate substance (the absolute truth) is called 'Devi' like Neer, Toye, Aab, Meen, Pani H2O, water, jal, Jol are mentioning the same substance these are synonyms...Waheguru, Rama, Krishna say anything the ultimate truth won't change, it will remain as it is the fundamental absolute truth is the same by which name you want to address that one absolute truth remember one thing all those names are man-made, made by some human some time back, humans didn't have language also there were no languages in stone age like animals and birds communicate with each other through sounds...have you ever heard? I enjoy so much here in ashram these days those nocturnal birds have come back, they are active in summer male and female, from one side male will call, from other side female brother, you use mobile phones they don't need mobile phone gadget, they communicate through their sounds they might be asking, "Did you eat grains?" "ate so much...did you get any?" when will we meet, now it's time to sleep, will meet tomorrow just listen to their conversation it is a conversation, if you can't understand then that is our problem, not theirs their conversation goes on with sounds language was formed much later language was formed, then human searched for that 'tatva' (ultimate absolute truth) then that ultimate truth was experienced, and a name was given to that ultimate truth so somewhere there is 'Brahman' and somewhere it is 'Parbrahman' somewhere it is formless, somewhere it is Nirguna, all these words were formed from language languages were made by human so any word emanating from language which has been created by human can never define that endless, boundless reality properly that's why at one level all these names are false and at one level all these names are true people argue a lot see..what I am saying today, if this is understood then all arguments will end the ultimate truth is one that one is called 'Pranav', it is called 'Shiva' it is called 'Om', and different names were given to it so Shiva tatva or Brahman tatva is one and the same now the one who firstly propounded upon this Brahma tatva, he is Mahadeva that's the difference all of you know Shankar ji as Ishvara we know him as Sadguru we know him as first yogi of the world we know him as the first realised being who imparted knowledge of dance, music, astrology, prakriti now when someone calls Mahadeva as Ishvara I don't have any objection in it because we call Maya-Vishisht-Chaitanya Brahman (when Brahman gets reflected in Maya) as Ishvara, so no problem but many stories which were later associated with Mahadeva I have some objection regarding them as, people have created so much in the name of emotions and hearsay is being followed traditionally in such a way that people feel that is truth, they don't know what the truth is and which is not true they assume it to be true in the name of dharma and tradition we know Mahadeva as the supreme Yogi understand as the first Guru of the world from whom the flow of higher wisdom emanated from whom the exposition of Brahman-vidya (the knowledge of Brahman) originated from whom the tradition of Guru-disciple relationship started now Mahadeva's wife is also there whose name is Sati Sati disobeys Mahadeva so she immolates herself in Yogic fire in father's yagya, in King Daksh's yagya she again takes birth as Parvati before Parvati also another birth happens in between then she worships, then she takes birth as Parvati and then again by doing penance, attains Mahadeva she asked a question to Mahadeva I have taken three births, but you are the same, how did this happen? earlier I was Sati, then I became daughter of a boatman then I became Parvati, daughter of King Himavan I was agonizing being distanced from you, kept on doing penance to achieve you I met in form of Sati, then again we were separated then again in the next birth in between, we remained separated then I meet you in third birth, you accept me but today I am curious to know, who are you and who am I? and how did this happen that my births kept happening and your birth didn't happen your body is the same Mahadeva gave the answers and Mahadeva answers as the Guru and remember we read like this in scriptures that being his wife, she used to sit on the left of Shiva but when this question was to be asked then she sat on the floor like a disciple she first worships Mahadeva and like a Guru, realising the Guru with immense love and devotion, with humility, not as the wife but she asks the question as a disciple because this was understood by Parvati that if I will ask being a wife then as a husband, he will defer answering it politely so she asks Mahadeva as a disciple, then the answers which were given to her by Mahadeva based on these answers, many scriptures, some of which can't be found today some which were verbally transmitted, are still preserved some have been saved by Mahatmas of Kashmir's Shaivamat and traditionally one by one, master to disciple then disciple then.. further master to disciple, so by this tradition for thousands of years this is our heritage which was preserved what happens is that the deep wisdom is not understood by an ordinary person what is understood is merely the story and many times, when it comes to stories, apart from people's emotions and faith, many other things too get jumbled with it Now I will say a couple of things about Mahadeva first and then we will move towards today's bhajan because in this bhajan I have collected different names of Mahadeva Mahadeva has 108 names out of those 108 names, some names have been taken up and from a collection of these names, the song has emerged so there is no other lyrical or poetical expression to that, just the names, collection of names It starts with 'Gangadharaya' now you must have seen million times in pictures and idols that it is shown that Ganges is flowing from Shiva's head has any one of you visited the place from where Ganges has originated Not Gangotri...Gaumukh from where Ganges originates visit this year, have a look at what I am talking about Gangotri is at the base where temple has been constructed that is also very pleasant, very ancient that place of pilgrimage is very ancient but from where Ganges originates which lies even above Gangotri around 16 km, one has to walk the path by foot and when the last 2.5 km remains, there are huge... there are huge rocks...huge rocks while climbing and descending these rocks you will cover the distance of 2.5 km and then you will reach that place from where origin source of Ganges is there and there...just like how a tiny stream of water flows from a tap just slight flow of water is there...only this much okay you start to go further back from Gaumukh now I have also not visited that place our beloved Mahatma..let's see this year, he mentions it every year but every year it fails to happen but this year, it might happen.. we'll gain victory over this fort as well..that place is Tapovana, which is even beyond Gaumukh between Tapovana and Gaumukh, lies a glacier there is a glacier, from which when Ganges melts, the slight flow of water that emerges and look at the wonder..the slight flow that originates from Gaumukh that Gangotri.. means as it covers around 16 Km so large, so forceful, so much noise, so much water in it and then flowing from there passing through Uttarkashi and Rishikesh and Haridwar and you see the form of Ganges keeps increasing but the source, it is very small.
