In reality, as the neem is bitter So how can you remove the bitterness of neem? You can grind it and add sugar or jaggery to it Even then the bitterness of neem remains the same If you drink a neem concoction too quickly So that you don't feel it's bitter on your tongue But the problem is that there are bitterness sensors in the base of your tongue Our tongue has sensors So Ahh...the bitter taste in sensed by the base of your tongue so you can't bypass it No matter how quickly you eat a bitter medicine Even then it will touch the base And when it touches the base, you will definitely get the bitter taste Like it is difficult to remove the bitterness of neem Similarly, know that it is as much difficult to remove tamoguna (inertia) from the mind Firstly, the material your mind is made of That material is called 'Maya' Maya means that which doesn't exist but appears to be That which doesn't exist but appears to be! This is the definition of maya in Vedanta That which doesn't exist but appears to be And it's best example is The sky appears to be blue during the day When sky is not blue at all If you sit in a space shuttle And cross the earth's 200 mile atmosphere Meaning if you cross the stratosphere And your space shuttle enters into the space Everything will be dark there You will see only darkness Ahh...the moonlight is also just reflected light of the Sun If you sit in any space shuttle Like now Ahh...Elon Musk is working on it Perhaps in 2 to 5 years...it's already there but it's very expensive But it's possible, in next 5-10 years It might be possible that people can pay money to sit in that space shuttle and And go into the space It could travel in space based on it's fuel capacity I think so even now You can pay some 100,000 dollars And you get this ticket; then you get this training Then you can go into the space Now if you go into space There is no light there Neither will the sky appear blue Like yesterday evening, during the sunset time Saffron color was spread all over the sky So, there is blue sky in the background and on that rays of the setting Sun were spread all over it So, some areas were looking so beautiful Now since that is also dinner time So... But it was such a wondrous unique sight of the sky But if we look at this with the discerning wisdom Then the sky is neither saffron nor blue The sky has no color, in fact And yet, our eyes see a blue color Likewise, we see things in gross form For example, if I say - this towel or This flower We will say that this is gross because we can touch it and see it That's why this must be a gross object But if we see the same flower under a microscope Then the flower won't look like this Not even it's fibers (will show up) This...that which we call the microscopes capable of seeing even at the molecular level, which are built in Hindustan (Bharat) too. I have a disciple who has his own research and invention Which is possibly the most powerful microscope being used in American for molecular sciences He developed it right here, while living in Ahmedabad If you look at this (flower) under that microscope So you will come across something totally different Imagine if we make our microscope even powerful Although it's not possible right now then even that possibility is there that we are able to see that there are only atoms present There is no gross object here And every atom is moving at a very high speed And due to it's very fast movement, the object 'appears' to be stationary to us For example, in your body The body is fat, you can see it and touch it But if we look at any one tissue of this body or blood under a microscope So, we will see totally different things there Like if you have ever had an X-ray You see your bones in the X-ray If you get an ultrasound done, you see your organs in that You don't even see a face in there Then just...just...if someone had a CT scan of their face or head region Or a MRI So, the skeleton of head that can be seen That is your actual reality! And if you remove your skin and hair Then all skulls are alike You won't even know who is who This is grace of Ishwara That there is skin, flesh and hair on this That's why everyone has a different face Eye colors are different But if there is just a skeleton OK, now if we study this bone structure on a molecular level So finally the tissue that remains is called X and Y chromosome Now if you are shown a graph or picture of that chromosome And you are told - this is what your body is made of Then you will say - this is a very strange thing, what is this? Meaning that which we are calling the gross world, in reality there is nothing gross in it There are atoms, they rotate and move with a very high speed The cells in your body are also constantly changing New cells are formed and the old ones die When the old cell dies, that process is called catabolism When a new cell forms, that process is called anabolism And if we give one name to both process, it is called metabolism So our body is not unchangeable, our body is not gross Ahh...our body is a union of seven elements And if we look at these elements in depth then they are cells If we go deeper, they are atoms And an atom is not stable at all An atom moves and rotates at a very high speed Now whether it is moving spherically or whether it is a particle or a wave or it's what? Scientists are still not very sure about it So, they have two different theories and they are changing everyday So our body is not lasting and yet it appears to be Samsara is not stable and yet it appears to be It's amazing! So, if Vedanta says that the world you are seeing is Maya (that which is not there and yet appears to be) Then Vedanta is not wrong! Whether it was Einstein or scientists who came after him Whether they are today's Japanese Quantum Physicists (like) Michio But when they say something Then what do they say? They say that nothing in this world is stable There is nothing gross And secondly, that which you are seeing That is a projection of your own mind! In reality, there is nothing permanent here; everything keeps changing And for what reason it is all changing? That's what they call Consciousness - Chetana Everything is happening because of Consciousness Nothing exists and yet (appears to be) happening Nothing exists but still everything appears to be stable Nothing exists but it still appears to be Like Before being a flower, this flower was hiding inside a seed We sowed that seed in the ground and it sprouted A plant came out of that sprout and it turned into a tree Tree grew several branches And leaves grew on the branches And then Flowers bloomed on them So, is this a seed or a flower? Now, in this flower again there are seeds So, there is a process that keeps happening So, we will say that forms keep changing Forms keep changing But what is the reality? Is the reality of flower a seed or is flower the reality of a seed? Because the seed came from a flower And again, seeds come out of flowers Ahh....if we talk about humans So, you are born out of your father's body And your child is born out of your body And then those kids further have kids, so on and so forth So, sometimes you should also turn around and look back Umm...I have never done this but I have heard That there are 'Pandas'- the priests in Haridwar have- like everyone has priests their own community So, they have maintain accounts (carrying the lineages) Ahh....of six, eight or ten generations back Now imagine the person who lived ten generations ago Meaning your forefathers So, did they know that a child named Shelly will be born in their family? Or, can you say what will happen to your future generations? You don't know anything about it The future is filled with complete ignorance The body that exists today We only know that Or paternal or maternal grandfather and grandmother Nothing more than that! Only a handful people- Ahh...like this body has seen her maternal great grandmother This body has also seen its mother's grandmother as well She had a long life And She had a very good and healthy body But who lived before them? (We) Don't know What were they? Don't know Where are they now? Don't know Now where are those who have died? Don't know We only see those who are alive But this doesn't mean that you didn't exist before the body And your existence will disappear after the body dies You continue to exist Similarly, when we live considering this body as I When we live Then in this, there are five senses of cognition In those, ones that trouble a person the most are the eyes Whatever he sees through the eyes, he wants to have all of it Ahh...what he hears through the ears, he wants to have that too Whatever he tastes with the tongue and then hears about delicious things He wants to have them too Because he is seeking happiness from all objects He is seeking happiness from all the objects of sensory indulgence Our innermost desire is of have joy Everyone has this desire, no one has taught this This is not taught in any school like 2 multiplied by 2 is 4 No teacher has taught this That all the students now you should from today onwards Always hope and wish that you should be happy No teacher is tutoring this No parents are saying this to children And yet every individual being is hoping and yearning to have happiness To have joy That hope for happiness; our hope for happiness Takes us close to objects "I will get happiness from this, from this, from this, so on and so forth" And this is also the wandering of our mind That which you call vasana (desire) I call that 'the desire to attain happiness' You say that after morning, many desires creep into the mind which were not present earlier Or when you were doing your practices in the morning, they were not present When you were doing pranayama, maybe at that time they weren't there But then later suddenly - "I want this, I want this, I want this- so on and so forth" The mind feels happy with what it gets That which it doesn't get, mind keeps crying for it The question is not That What should be there or not? But there is just one desire - that I get happiness OK like someone thinks...umm... I met a man once in Mumbai So his introduction that was given to me was That he is the person who creates billionaires I asked, what does that mean? He was One of the excellent minds Business opportunity, profitability Valuation, Equity He understood all these things So, he was an advisor I think he was the head of a bank at some point But then he became a freelancer So, he became an Advisor So this was the introduction given to me (about him) I said, "OK, it's very good" Because what will I do (with that)? For me It's a big deal, definitely; Maybe it's a big deal for the nation too But personally for me It's not a big deal that how much money you have in your bank account I have nothing to do with that! And the truth is this as well- Imagine someone's house Ahh...is 50,000 square feet 50,000 square (Or) If someone has a 100,000 square feet house How much area will that person live in? 300 - 500 square feet So, what happens in the rest of the house? It's just that he has this ownership that this belongs to me I remember, we went to 'Dar es Salaam' once Capital of Tanzania So, the person who invited me there is a Gujarati And he owned a diamond mine And his house was by the seaside In the house itself, I think there were two swimming pools How many rooms were there- we don't know Because The poor guy himself was confused whether there were 20 or 25 rooms- something like that And he lived alone in such a big place He had 20-25 servants What was his personal situation I don't have the habit of asking I just do the work I have gone for He was a very good person So this is certain Even if you have a 200,000 or 500,000 square feet palace Then how much will you bring under personal use? 200? Even in that, you will either sit on the bed or in the chair So, how much space? How much space if you sit? 3 by 4 How much if you lie down? Beds are 7 or 6 feet long, not more than that So, a person's requirement is very small This young girl who wrote to me that she wishes to have 100 million rupees This is not the child who is asking for it There might be people around her who are talking about it Possibly her parents
