कैसे मिले वासनाओं से मुक्ति AV Epi 2089 Daily Satsang 7th November 2023 Anandmurti Gurumaa

I say something in Hindi Looking at the groom's outfit Remember? This is a very...what do they say in poetry? This is an explosive verse for you Explosive verse Looking at the groom's outfit A passerby said Look at him carefully, another lamb is being sacrificed! Look at him carefully, another lamb... Like they decorate a lamb for Bakrid (Islamic holiday), they feed it for two months and fatten it up And then on Bakrid, it gets slaughtered They also decorate it and put a flower garland around it's neck They don't get a dress in it's size otherwise they would make it wear that too Gautam Kashyap Antahkaran is the mind, intellect, subconscious and ego unit Mind has three states - conscious, subconscious and unconscious Is subconscious mind the chitta? And is ahankara (ego) in the intellect? Or is it separate from the intellect? In the end, is antahkaran the mind and intellect? And chitta (subconscious) and ego are not separate but in mind and intellect Please help me understand When we say mind, intellect, subconscious and ego as four then these are actually four functions These are not 4 entities but 4 functions When it engages in thought and counter-thought, it is the mind When it makes a decision, it is intellect After deciding, knowing something through the senses, whatever goes in through the five senses of cognition Where it gets stored is the chitta And I know this This I-ness, that I know this...this is called ahankara (ego) So in a way, we can call subconscious the chitta In one way, we can also say that ego is in the intellect Or we can say that between intellect and ego, there is just a difference of labelling Like you saw someone coming from a distance You thought this is my friend Mind raised a thought - this is my friend Then you thought maybe not because he was in Bangalore Then your chitta started it's matching His head, his eyes, his body structure These are exactly like him Then your mind raised a counter-thought - No, he is not like him Then that man came closer And when you saw him up close - Oh, this is him This confirmation that happened - this is the intellect And when there is - I know this I understood this This is the ego So it's like four different faculties four  different functions which have happened That's how we differ into mind, intellect, subconscious and ego - the ahankara But actually it is one but because their functionings are four different hence we classify into four Antah - meaning the one which is within Karan that which is instrument  to to interact with the external world So that which stays in but functions to interact with the external world is called antahkaran Antyah means inner, Karan means instrument So your mind is one instrument Which does the sankalpa and vikalpa - the thought and the anti-thought And what is intellect, Buddhi? When you come to a conclusion - okay this is right What is chitta? What is this subconscious mind? All that inputs which went in through your senses, all the physical experiences, mental and emotional experiences which you got in They stay in the mind like an archetype Very deep impressions that is called the subconscious or the chitta And what is ego or what is ahankara? That is when conclusively you say that this is it Right? This is it So these are four different functions but actually it is one But very very different functions...very very Jyoti Long back in Pune satsang you asked the question - for any sound to hear we need two things like clap of hands What is the sound which can be heard without any two objects? I didn't know the answer - with regular practicing sacred spaces meditation Came to know the answer is sound of OM Sorry Jyoti, that's not true You still haven't found the answer, that's not OM Because when you say OM, your vocal  cords are involved Like to clap, two hands are required One hand thrusting onto another  creates the sound Two fingers, three fingers are required to create a sound To speak, you need the vocal cords to vibrate That's how the OM sound is created And what I said...sound of one  hand clap Where two are not involved So, OM is definitely not that sound You still have to look further but keep doing the sacred spaces because that's quite a challenge Because it gets more subtler, it gets more deeper and surely it will give u a big boost to the quality of the consciousness which you have Shyam Kumar Saini In spite of our intellect knowing and realizing fully well about our weaknesses We are still not able to control the outwardly tendency of mind many a times The tussle between the intellect  and mind continues Sometimes intellect wins, sometimes the wondering mind Please bless us to the control the strings of mind by practicing more and more self-awareness, control and awakening Sorry Shyam ji, it is not about awareness, control or awakening It has something else which you need to understand For example, if I go into Umm...take the command of Sri Krishna, then Sri Krishna says - indriyani mano Indriya - sense organs, mano - mind buddhir asyadhishthanam uchyate And your intellect These are the places where your desires and your urges live Three places - senses, mind, intellect Right? Sri Krishna is giving all the three in this one shloka Your senses, your mind and your intellect - these three are the places where your desires live etair vimohayatyesha jnanam avritya dehinam And these are the one which are going to cover up your sensibility and intelligence And these three will push you to go into the indulgence Because your desires are in, one senses, mind and intellect Let's say through your eyes you saw something That day I was in...umm...small town And it's a very wondrous experience to be in small towns Why? You have the hawkers coming in the street Right? So one hawker was saying - gol gol gappe (round balls filled with spiced water) Very detailed, right? Gol gol gappe Spicy gol gol gappe You heard the sound - gol gappe You had eaten, memory is there Impression is there And then you heard the sound Come and eat Gol gol gappe How many of you have their mouths watering? You know that tamarind and mint chutney In the water which has some ice cubes floating And those puffed balls in which he threw some boiled potato And boiled black gram Which has spices into it and dipped into that syrup and he says - gol gol gappe Ahh... Your ear heard word 'gol gappe' Your subconscious got stirred up Your tongue started salivating Right? Right? Yes... Your tongue started salivating and your mind pulled out the box of subconscious where memory of eating gol gappe is there So your senses, your mind and your intellect - three places where all your desires are Hmm? And Sri Krishna says that - It is covered with the sheath of  ignorance So you never know when which and where this desire will raise its head like a hood of a snake Let me give you a story An old Mahatma was dying and on his deathbed His disciple said - Gurudev give me last teaching before you leave The summary, the concise experiences can you give me some teaching? Guru said - Don't have a cat as a pet And he died He couldn't understand what what's that with my practice, what is cat to do  with it? For months and months, he just stayed in that ashram hoping to understand that what did this mean Then one of his guru's friends came And then he said that I am in a big dilemma, my Guru gave me the last teaching and that was don't have a cat What is that? The senior Mahatma laughed out loud he said - OK I'll tell you, when he was young your Guru when he was young A cat came in his hut She was so cute Meow meow meow... And she came and sat in his lap And he just patted the cat and the cat started loving and she won't go anywhere and she stayed there And then one day, the villagers said umm... Mahatma Ji, this poor cat is here, you have to feed her with some milk So when you come to us only then we can give you milk, you don't come every day to the village Your poor cat will die of hunger, so please we can offer you a cow, you keep this cow And feed your cat Mahatma said - OK Fine he took the cow And then villagers saw whole day he's after that cow, now feed the grass, now milk the cow Now do this, now do that So all his practices went into the drain Then a villager came, he said - Mahatma ji, we can see you're working so hard to take care of the cow I think so we should do something about it So what do you want to do? He said - there is a young widow, nobody wants to keep her in our house and she has nothing to do at home We can send her, she will take care of the cow and the milk and the cat And you were now getting old Mahatma said okay then that young widow came So she was a very efficient person, she took care of everything The cow, the cat and then one day the Mahatma also So people said - it's not a nice thing a young woman is living in your ashram so why don't you get married to her? At least you should obey the rules of the society And it's not a nice thing, people are gossiping, rumor mongering is happening, your good image is getting tarnished Mahatma said okay So he married that woman So now he with his wife, new wife, cat and cow He was living wonderfully, then a time came the the wife became pregnant And while giving birth to a child she died And then that cow also died And then he was left only with that old cat And one day he wondered what happened to me? I was a Mahatma, I was doing my yogic practices and then this cat comes and then cow comes and the wife comes And then wife dies and the cow dies and cat is still there - Oh God! What did I do? My whole life got ruined So the most important teaching of my life is - don't have a cat Your desires are in your mind  and intellect and in your senses And you have to understand this That until and unless you don't work deeply paap manam prajehi yenam gyan vigyan nashanam These desires will bring destruction to you And it will push you towards great sins And your urges and your desires are  in your senses, mind and intellect And they are all covered nicely with the veil of ignorance - agyana So it won't just go away by repeating the word - I am Satchitananda (Ever-Truth, Ever-Conscious, Ever-Bliss) and the world is illusion Because your desires will still be very much real What you need is the viveka (intelligence to distinguish between truth and untruth) Without that it won't work Viveka will lead you to dispassion The dispassion will lead you to the consolidation of knowledge in your  intellect And that's when the knowledge will bloom Otherwise people get victimized by their own mind By their own intellect, by their own senses Once a young man came here He was very well educated, very nice, very beautiful He stayed here very nicely for about four months And one day he came and said to me that I can't stay in the dormitory, I feel very hot So please give me a room with a cooler I said - first of all, office does all this allotment, I don't do that And secondly Because four months had passed, he started thinking he had a right I want this, now I want this, I want this... Similarly, there was someone who said - they don't provide any milk at night I can't stay here, they don't provide any milk at night I said - has your mother provided a cow here?
