During Yog Nidra, the body shivers In dhyana (meditation) also my body shivers, what does it mean? When we are lying still, when we are not moving, when we are Especially doing the breathing The temperature goes down The body temperature goes down Especially in Yog Nidra the Body is going into that relaxed mode Say if you sit in a room You're fine, but if you lie down To sleep then in that very room Same temperature You would need a sheet to cover yourself up Because in sleep The body temperature goes down So in Yog Nidra too Body is relaxed and sleep like symptoms are there Hence, It can feel coolness and when you are sitting upright and doing dhyana (meditation) and if body shivers in that then it's not exactly body temperature but sometimes You can be aware of the sensations about which you are absolutely unaware of Like the expansion of Backside while breathing Your front is Expanding and contracting, well everybody knows that - now at least But even your back is doing that but it's not Visible or clearly Noted by anybody So sometimes that observation of body sensation seems like a movement and actually the more you will sit the more you'll have a relationship with your own body You don't have any relationship with your own body Because Mind is always busy in looking other things and stuff and objects and people so you are absolutely unaware of your own body Like if I ask you To feel your Space in between nose and upper lip If I say feel your earlobe Soft part of your ear; the earlobe Do you? So the sensations get heightened when we sit Our body awareness gets heightened when we sit properly and nicely The difference in between thirst and hunger is big But mostly when people are thirsty they think they're hungry; hence they eat So the body sensations are too less It's your own body but not aware of the body What we are doing with the body, we're unaware of that If I say, feel the little finger of your left hand Now you'll find thumb easily Fourth finger Then you move it a little bit and third finger It takes sometimes three to four years of practicing Yog Nidra that finally people can feel their own third toe Big toe is easy but third toe - tough So doing a study in medical college, people know the lumber, the thoracic, you know all that.. But if I ask you that from L1 to L7, feel the inter castle muscles The bony structure, I am saying One, two, three, four, like that Seeing it in a diagram is very different from feeling it in your own body When you say my head is hurting Head is such a big area If you have ability to be attentive then you can locate that it might be just in a right corner or in the upper or in the back or in the center And it might get located to Maybe 1 cm of the area, of head is alone hurting rest is actually not hurting Pin pointing that pain So the way A Yogi or a awakened person feels a body is very different from the way you feel your body So the body sensations when increase then you might feel there's a certain but sometimes the movements can be pity loud also Like it is rocking Like this.. now it is little enjoyable also so it might be just once but then you love it, then I see people willfully they'll be rocking into it Rajyoga says no movement in the body should happen but The tremors when they'll come, they'll come But there's another point to it, you haven't gone that down deeper into pranayama that you will feel those tremors which would come if you do your pranayama properly Sonia I want to take mantra from you Will give it you when I find the time Maninder With your grace, every season of life is felt in a bliss, just one question that while doing Yog Nidra When I was about to get up in the end, the body was not moving Back, waist, hands, legs, everything became numb I've been feeling like this for a while This belief is there that whatever is happening is okay Only question is that if there is any shortcoming from Maninder's side that can be improved? There is no shortcoming in it which you correct This is very natural that Yog Nidra is over but the body doesn't wants to move Body doesn't want to move That's why the relaxation which you feel in the body Until that numbness is there, it also means that you mind also doesn't want to move But the body has it's different wavelength and speed Mind has it's own So sometimes there are many things in the mind which have to be done So mind says, get up and body is saying have more fun Stay silent Why get up right now? Body is so numb, like if you are sitting in meditation in pranayama or with mantra or just sitting Even in this it can happen that the body became so numb, that you can't even raise your own hand It's your own eyes, you want to open them but the eyes say they don't want to open It's your own mouth but it does not want to speak So these are all the symptoms of deep meditation When this happens, to hell with the world, enjoy this bliss! Because even if you die for the world, they'll say Maninder was so bad! Wasn't good, the world has thousands of reasons and excuses to make you look bad That's why Whenever you get this opportunity Consider that the grace of Lord - Considering that the grace of the Master, you should just enjoy it and keep it close Keep it close very blissfully! Earlier today, I selected a few lines for you from Sukhmani Sahib Sukhmani Sahib is of Sri Guru Arjun dev ji His Shahkaar, his creation Don't clap your hands in shabad, first thing is this Telling you it's meaning broadly "Tu thakur tum pae ardaas" Ardaas means prayer Thakur means Lord - Oh Lord I pray to you Prarthna, ardaas, prayer- one and the same thing; "Jiyo pind sab teri raas" The Jeeva; the individual soul The body; the mind All these things are Your given, You gave it to us Teri Raas means this is your treasure which you have given to me "Tum maat pita hum barak tere" You are my father, mother and I am Your child "Tumri kripa me sukh ghanere" In Thy blessings I have so deep and profound happiness "Koi na jaane tumhra ant" Nobody can know Where Your being ends because You are infinite "Uche te ucha bhagwant" Lord You are highest to the higher and nobody is equivalent to You "Sagal samagri tumhre sutradhari" Samagri means objects - in all objects, in all beings There is one thread which is binding us all and that thread is You, Oh lord! So we are all different But yet there is one thread which is connecting us one to another to another to another "Tum teh hoye so agyaakaari" And nature is in Your command hence everybody is under Your command and that is what I wish too That may I be in Your command I am not, the mind is not, see - mind is not "Tumhri gat mit tum he jaani" Who You are is known by You alone Mat means buddhi - Intellect My intellect cannot know You Lord You only know who Your are - "Nanak Das sadaa Kurbaani" and me Nanak, I am Thy servant and I'll sacrifice everything for You, I can die for You, Whatever I have is Yours Nothing belongs to me; "Jeyo pind sab teri raas" The Jeeva Pind means body Raas means the treasure, this body, this mind, this soul Not my soul, my soul is a wrong word, I am soul, I am too Your property "Tu thakur tum pae ardaas" Oh Lord! Oh Lord I pray to you! The Jeeva, the body, the mind - this is Your treasure which You have given to me Oh Lord I pray to you! The Jeeva, the body, the mind this is Your treasure which You have given to me
