कर्म अनुसार जन्म होता है I AV Ep.898 Daily Satsang 4 August'20 Anandmurti Gurumaa (English Subt.)

There is no difference between yesterday and today With the flow of time, you continue doing good One person said- see, we still remain poor, we remain poor Did we not perform any good deeds? Oh! this is too much Buddha Ji had given up his palace, money, wealth, renouncing all to become a Sannyasi Had wealth been alluring, the palace been alluring, then would he have renounced all this? Then who says if wealth is there, only good things happen, while being poor means nothing good will happen Kabir Sahib used to work on a handloom, weave clothes, so was he not a nice man? Raidas Ji used to do leather work, make shoes, clean leather, remove the skin of dead animals, clean it But who else would have been a brahman-vetta, brahmangyani (one who has realised self) like him And do you know, Kabir Ji and Raidas Ji, were Guru-bhai, both were disciples of Swami Ramanand Ji Both, Swami Ramanand Ji's disciples So, because of your poverty or dearth of wealth, considering everything is unfavourable and when money flows in, then everything will be good, this is sheer stupidity Listen then, when Ramachandra Ji realised that mother Kaikeyi has asked for him to be exiled for 14 years On one hand, he was preparing to be coronated in the morning., while on the other hand, the news was received that now you have to go towards the jungle You have to live in the forest, not supposed to live in the city, neither in someone's house And for 14 years, you shouldn't disclose to anyone that you are a prince, so that nobody gives you royal treatment So, Lakshman Ji got furious, how can this be possible? How? He argued He said- our father has grown old, he needs to be corrected, you should lift your bow-arrow as now we will rebel against it, to which Ram Ji asked him to stay quiet as nothing will happen, Lakshman Ji asked- aren't you angry? Ram Ji replied- No! So, are you ready to go towards the jungle? Ram Ji replied- yes!, Lakshman Ji asked 'but why?' Lakshman just sit down, calm down Lakshman, calm down Listen. Do you remember Gurukul? Lakshman Ji says- Yes How was that time in Gurukul? He says brother, that was such a wonderful time, we were with all our Guru bhai we used to have Guru Vashishth Ji's darshan, used to wake up early in the morning during Brahma-muhurta and we did sandhya-vandan (salutation and prayers offered at dawn and dusk), then used to do yogasanas, then did Ghana-Patha (a way of reciting Vedas), and after that we used to understand Veda-Vedanta and then all of us used to sit together and eat food served on a leaf and then we used to bathe in the river, and then we, Ram Ji said, then listen brother Lakshman, now for the next 14 years, this is exactly what we will experience exactly this life of amusement we will bathe in the river, have darshan of the Rishis, wake up during brahma-muhurta and all these royal affairs, politics, far away from these things. Tell me how is the idea? He said this is a very wonderful idea, fantastic idea, beautiful He said let's go, I'll definitely accompany you then Now you can't go alone. You can't leave me alone here and go Such a wonderful thing without me and you....how is that possible? On one hand Lakshman is arguing that this is not correct, mother Kaikeyi has not done the right thing, father has not done right and when he listened to what can happen in 14 years, for 14 years ashram life can be experienced, can there be anything better than this? Now I will also go. So, was this a bad occurrence? The one who does not understand will cry thinking that Ram Ji, who was about to be crowned as the king, now has to live in a forest And on the other hand, for the one who understands, has lived the ashram way of life, has had darshan of the Guru, for him it is sheer joy Then, what is good? So, the other day you listened to the story of the boy, who is nowadays in jail Look at how bad his situation is But from his mind, he is happy, calm, cheerful So, it is not outer circumstances that make us bad or good The way our mind would be like, we become the same You might stay in some big palace, now listen, once I had to stay in a palace I just didn't like it. Why? I thought ghosts of the kings and queens must be roaming here Here, what is good? What is good here? And you know that to become a king, they kill each other, give poison, commit murders So, can such a place be beautiful? Hence, it is not the palace which is beautiful, but the calmness of the mind that is beautiful Understood? The more simple life we will live, the more we can live without being slave to anybody I want this, I want that, I want this, keep wanting. This is like begging Listen, a beggar went and spoke out hey mother, give something, hey mother give something says there's nothing, beggar says hey mother give cloth then (woman replies- not there), give chapati (not there), give milk then (not there). Okay mother then you also join me Let's roam together then. Neither you have anything nor do I. Two better than one. What should happen then? It should happen this way that our stomach gets filled, we should make arrangements for it We should work hard. The lighter and simpler food we eat, the healthier we remain And the more delicacies we eat.... The more we eat delicious chapatis applied with ghee/butter (and earned through dishonest means), the more we suffer Eat chopdi chopdi (rotis laden with ghee or butter). Chopra Ji used to eat chopdi-chopdi, Chopra Ji therefore had a heart attack Then doctor said Chopra Ji you are not supposed to eat chopdi now Chopra Ji now eat dry chapati, so moong dal, moong dal, moong dal (green gram) What should you eat? Moong Dal (green gram). This is why, we in ashram, make everyone eat moong dal But this is not the case, even you know, along with moong dal, you do get a lot of other... Didn't get? Therefore, don't just sing 'moong dal, moong dal' then, where is that boy? Now he is keeping his head down Ok now let's take a quick question, Tanu Kaushik from Gurugram What happens to the soul or Atman when it leaves the body behind and where does it go? What is the difference between a Jogi, Sadhu and Sant? First point is, like I told you, gross body is the exterior case What is inside this, is the subtle body and causal body, and these are with me. And who am I? I, Atman But when I, Atman combine with the subtle body, then my name becomes Jiva (individual self) Understood? So my name becomes jiva. So, when body dies, then jiva leaves this body. Where does it go? Wherever its desires are Where its desires are, and wherever it has to bear the brunt of its karma, it will take birth there From around 3 days, it can also take upto 3 lakh years to take the next birth It might happen in 3 days, and if it does not happen it might take a really long time for the next birth to happen Like a square cog will go into a square space, and a round will go into a round space Similarly, according to our karma, we are going to get our mother and father So, that matching should happen. Now you will ask who will do this matching? That is called 'Mahatattva' the divine mind, the macrocosmic mind, that intelligence works to create that...see, you have this thing the AI Do you understand AI? Artificial Intelligence. This Artificial intelligence is now being used in so many areas and very soon, maybe in another 5 years or so, it will do amazing things for us But nobody thinks how is it even possible? I'll give you one more example, I'm wearing this watch which suddenly starts to ring, because she is listening. Isn't intelligence doing so much? While being seated here, can you know how the weather's like in Switzerland? Seated here, can you know what the rate in New York stock market is? While being seated here, can you know the position of Moon, what day is it today? Is it the first day, twelfth day or thirteenth day of a lunar fortnight? What is the position of your Mars? There's an application which you can put in your phone, it will let you know longitude, latitude, are we able to know everything or not? So, when man's created intelligence can do so much, then what all is nature's intelligence capable of doing This is why it is called Mahatattva. A very big mind is working A very big mind is working So where will the next birth take place? This will depend on your karma and in which place and what time it will happen this is decided by that intelligence So one point which you all need to understand is that having a human body, having this birth is not a small thing It is the biggest opportunity which you have. It is the greatest blessings what you have and that is we are born like a human being, not like a dog or a cat or a mosquito Imagine if you were born as a mosquito, this is what people would have been doing to you the entire time You would have been beaten up. Look at the plight of lizards, cockroaches you sight one cockroach and the entire family, takes shoes and runs after it Yes! But you are a human. Cockroach too has prana (the cosmic life force) and life Do remember, there's a jiva in cockroach too. Where there is mind, there is jiva There is Jiva in it, but it does not have that intellect. It does not have this spine, the vertical spine does not have a thinking brain But there is 'life' in it. Right? So, whether it is a snake, scorpion or any animal, don't kill it Don't kill them They have a mind, they can feel the pain So please spare all the chickens, don't eat them. They have life They cannot communicate. They cannot speak to you. They cannot say, 'Don't kill me' You can. If someone keeps a knife to your neck, you can surely say don't kill me. But that chicken can't say it That hen can't say it. Be it a buffalo, a pig, octopus, fish..don't know what all...crabs, don't know what all they eat They say I've taken an exotic food. What? Fried frog legs Exotic food? You should be condemned for being a human. What have you eaten? But what is exotic in it? So, being a human it is a great responsibility, we live nicely, we live beautifully, we love all We respect all lives, we don't harm anybody And we use our intellect to become more and more stronger and intelligent and compassionate person Be a compassionate person. If you give compassion to others, that compassion will come back to you Right? And if you give hatred and anger to others, then hatred and anger will come back to you Right? In your life, these days that you have spent with us, now, you keep living with good memories of these days And, if some talk of wisdom transpires in your life and comes to your remembrance You'll like it so much Now here, all that you sang, learnt, did yogasanas, so were you coloured in the colour of this place or not? Little bit, this much...or, this much! And, the day you...yes, I'll mention one small thing and then we'll move forward to today's bhajan What is the difference between a Sant, a Mahatma, a Sanyasi? By Sant, we refer to the one who has acquired the truth Mahatma, we refer to the one who knows Atman (the real self) And Atman is great and for you too, it remains great, but since you haven't realised it, therefore you are ordinary the one who realises it, is referred to as a Mahatma And who is a Sannyasi? The one who dedicates his entire life to 'gyana' (higher wisdom) Like Vashishtha Ji, first acquire realisation of the true self and then impart it to others Understood? Firstly learn yoga yourself and then make others also learn yoga. Firstly bring love and devotion to your life and then provide it to others also So the one who dedicates his entire life to tread the path of Ishwar, and the one who renounces the desires of the world is called a Sannyasi And this, with presence of great fortune, by great difficulties and with immense blessings of the Guru And, the one whose intellect has pragya (intellect when gets refined with higher wisdom), only that person will have this feeling in his mind Otherwise, one simply wishes to earn money, do this, do that, keep collecting worldly material and during the time of death, go empty-handed. Nothing is going to accompany you anyway But for one eating, drinking, indulgence is everything and the other says it is not sensory gratification that I want, now I want God Not sensory gratification, now it is company of the Guru that I want. So the one who loves being in company of the Guru, loves nearness to the Guru, wants to live with the Guru, wishes to inculcate gyana (the higher wisdom) in his life and who renounces the desires of the world is called a Sanyasi Now listen to today's bhajan, which is the last bhajan of this shivir (meditation retreat)
