This question arises in every person's life, sooner or later but when the right answer to that question is not received then, very quickly that person stops asking such questions and very soon the work which other people are doing the same work, he also starts doing and here itself, you unwillingly become a part of that crowd the crowd, you didn't want to be a part of imagine, there are thousands and lakhs of people in one place and you are also one of them, how would that feeling be nervousness difficulty you don't have an identity in it and when, the crowd goes out of control, then that very crowd takes the form of mob one highly violent crowd is referred to as mob in english It becomes a mob then and looking at the accidents that happen in such a mob listening about it, is very upsetting what must have happened to those people and then some fear of the crowd also sets in that stay away from an overcrowded place because don't know when and what might happen there But, a person when takes birth he is completely alone then, with his family, with his parents, brother, sister his relatives friends, neighbours he gets acquainted with them then, soon he also understands the religion, caste to which he belongs so, the people belonging to my caste become mine and the ones who don't belong to my caste are different from us people belonging to my religion are mine ones who do not belong to my religion are different from me so, one's own group gets formed in the brain and this very group is referred to as a crowd in hindi foolish people follow the crowd, this is a saying of the wise and the wise person does not become a part of the crowd, he carves a new path for himself The question arises that where do you stand? Have you carved a path for yourself or are you also. herd mentality are a part of this Understand this There are many kinds of people who provide you with information let's look at this screen doctors have in depth knowledge about body with X-ray, scan, test to detect diseases but what about mind? A lot has been researched on the body right from a blood test, from a CT scan, from a full body CT scan Recently, I have heard that a new test has come up in America through this test, they will be able to tell that in the coming ten years if you will have a heart disease or not if you will have tumour or not, if you will have cancer or not not only will they tell but also a famous actress there got a similar test done through which, it was revealed that she has a breast cancer gene in her body gene exists right after knowing this, she got a double mastectomy surgery done, that is a surgery to get both breasts removed in the coming two or three or four years, if it turns into cancer then chemotherapy and this and that..and at that time if surgery is done, it is detected late, cancer would spread, I will die so, why should I take this risk cancer might occur they said this, there is gene in your body because of that she took an extreme step cancer hasn't occurred yet but breast cancer might occur because of this possibility she got surgery done Science has reached quite far, now if it's results are good or bad now, this is a debatable issue if it has advantages or disadvantages this is a different issue but in order to keep information about your body we have doctors, medical science we have vaidya, homeopath we have diagnostic laboratories What has happened to you, through your saliva, urine, stool by testing them, it is detected whether this virus is there or this bacteria has increased, if this has happened or if there is less haemoglobin in your body or if LDL is more, or if cholesterol is more so now you eat this medicine and you'll be fine to give you this knowledge, you come across many doctors in your society but if I ask you about your mind are there any doctors who can give you this information? Okay, the ones we refer to as psychiatrists a notion about them is that when a person goes mad, then their need arises In the earlier times, even presently in India, in some places treatment is done by giving electrical shocks and the ones who completely go out of control or become violent or go into depression, only such people would be in need of a psychiatrist and assume assume that if someone is compelled to go then, more than cancer, he hides this so that nobody gets to know that I visit some psychologist, psychiatrist though this notion is wrong but if I say this that, just like we recognize the diseases of the body similarly, are experts who recognize and understand the mind, available in our society? Do we, the way we understand that excessively sneezing, or having a running nose so we say this person has cold if the body temperature increases, we say it is fever if the frequency of motions increases, we say it is diarrhea if fever goes beyond 105, then it is dangerous, it is checked if it is Dengue or Chikungunya or not There is adequate information about the body all of you have it BP goes high, goes low, heart fails, paralysis occurs, sugar occurs, liver disorders happen, skin problems arise there is enough information and sometimes, the ones who are not even doctors they also start instructing others, if this has happened do this, do that, you'll be fine my grandmother used to say this knowledge is also there, but if we say 'mind' then the question is what do you know about your mind? Let's look at the next slide If you are asked to tell where are your hands? Do you know? Do you know where your eyes are? Do you know where your ears are? Atleast nod with a yes or a no yes? Are you scared? Did someone beat you? Did you not get food? What has happened? Be easy, we are seated here to understand something, not to make you feel frightened There is information about the external organs Okay, if I ask you where is your liver? then there might be some difficulty. If I ask you where is your heart? There can be a problem with this also If I ask you where are your Pancreas? Now, those who have a medical background would easily understand and if there is no medical understanding, then you would say don't know where it is like many people say that women have their brain in their knees and they say in such a way as if they have seen it they believe that their brain... many have taken it further downwards, they say their brain is not even in the knees, it is in their ankles where is your brain, broadly everybody would point to their head but if I say where is the optic nerve? Don't know if I ask you where is your amygdala? Don't know if I say pituitary... one person said what is this 'tuitary', we don't even know this firstly, it is not 'tuitary', it is called pituitary this is how it is called in english they say how do we know if it is there or not, we have no knowledge of it So, we have knowledge of the external organs of the body, but the system that works inside knowledge of that system is further limited but if I ask you where is your mind? Where is the mind in your body? Now, you must have never thought about it you must have never thought about it whatever good, bad, happiness, sorrows that are happening in your life Is it not happening because of this very mind? dharma, adharma, sins, virtues, good, bad bad, good, virtues, vices all are happening via tha mind, through the mind, but the question is where is the mind? If we try guessing what do you think, where will it be? in the head? in the heart? where? Now, if someone had a bypass surgery ask any cardiologist they have seen the heart by ripping and opening it mind wasn't found in any of the chambers of the heart mind wasn't found and the brain surgeons have seen on opening the brain, that mind wasn't found even there kidney, spleen in the intestines mind wasn't found there also so where does this mind reside don't know where it has hidden itself after creating all the troubles I am being reminded of a very old song a very old song, that song it is meant for someone else but here, it fits somewhere else Come in front Oh trickster What is the mystery behind hiding and deceiving this way A trickster who are they referring to? they are referring to their beloved Here, who are we referring to? Come in front Oh trickster What is the mystery behind hiding and deceiving this way After this, our people had composed their own bhajan, we changed the lines you won't be able to hide like this Oh Paramatman (the supreme self) this is the call of my Atman (the real self) don't know the original one mind is a trickster song over mind deceives, and we don't even get to know how it deceives but today, we will find, understand this trickster mind and we will try that the delusions related to it can be dispelled the doubts, the questions about the mind can be dealt with nicely, so that we can come out of this fog Let's look at the next slide Our sages by virtue of their tremendous insight and wisdom fathomed the very nature of mind The mind which cannot be seen by the eyes, cannot be heard by the ears which cannot be found by ripping and searching for it in the body the mind which cannot be seen by scanning through any CT scan or X-ray our sages understood the depths of this very mind Your scientist needs his laboratory if he wishes to do any work needs machines without the machines, without laboratory, he cannot do any experiment our sages did a complete research on the subject of mind any machine any laboratory any equipment, without any of these You consider your scientists to be very intelligent and wise but take their machines away from them, then ask them to tell rather, go to some MBBS doctor steal or remove his BP machine and then ask him how much is my blood pressure he won't be able to tell if cardiogram is not there, ask him what is my ECG graph like he won't be able to tell If EEG machine is not there, he won't be able to tell that how well the brain is working without X-ray machine, he can't tell where are the bones, if they are broken, fractured or not what happened If they don't have their machinery they cannot work but a Mahatma a Rishi without any external means understood that the ones who this way...in the mind who are trapped in the entanglements of the mind, they can't understand the mind and, in order to understand the mind any machinery too is not possible through machine, some external object, thing can be understood but, what is inside you and which is also not like any physical organ how must have that been understood? so the wisdom of the sages is way higher than that of your so called scientists
