Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj, in Sukhmani Sahib, says," Poora prabh aaradhaya..." "Poora jaaka naau" "Nanak poora paaya, poore ke gun gayo||" I meditate upon the all-inclusive Lord. I have attained the all-inclusive Lord. His name is all-inclusive & my mind, as it became united with His name, so, using the ladder of the Name, I've reached the Lord, & now, I just sing His praises. I'm living in bliss. "Poora prabh aaradhaya" -I worshiped the all-encompassing Lord. 'Poora ja ka naau' -That Lord's whose Name is also all-encompassing. 'Nanak poora paaya, poore ke gun gaao...' & I attained that All-encompassing one! Let me say a thing. We shouldn't think that we can't attain the Almighty as the Almighty is extremely hard to attain. Well, who said, he's hard to attain? Who? The poet says, "Me and You are separate...," "Me & You are separate..." "An enemy must have spread this rumour!" The one who says this to you that it is hard to meet the Lord & you can't ever meet the Lord! Those who want to sit as an agent in-between.. they're lying. This thing is just untrue! Remember this statement by Tulsi Baba, "Ishwar ansh, jeeva avinashi" (The jeeva, being Ishwara's part is indestructible!) "Chetan amal" (It is conscious, pure, sinless, stainless by birth.) "sehaj sukh raashi, so," (and an infinite treasury of all happiness. The same) maya bas bhao gosaayi" (Lord has fallen into illusion of maya) "Bandhyo keet markat ki naayi" (to be tied like a tiny insect, monkey). "Ishwar ansh, jeeva avinashi" (The jeeva, being Ishwara's part is indestructible!) "Chetan amal" (It is conscious, pure, stainless by birth.) "sehaj sukh raashi." (An infinite treasury of all happiness). This is your 'real being'. Yes! This is 'you'! Right now, if I ask someone, "Who are you?" They'll say, "I... Kishor Kumar!" "I... Neelam!" "I.... Atul!" "I....this!" "I....that!" & sometimes people mention their caste, that also... add it behind the name. The surname which is there, that too... We are this... We are that! This is not your identity. See, the men who consider their body's identity or their religion's identity, or their body's identity as true, see their plight also. Just as the breath leaves the body, no one says that Banu Walia has died. They say, it's a corpse. Becoming a corpse... Caste-creed, all.. (gone) In the hospital's mortuary, in the thumb of the feet, they tie a thread & write a number on it... That this is corpse's number. While we're alive, we make so many walls upon us... I am this, I am that... It's not your real identity. This the identity given by the society. You are the part of the Lord. You are divine. This is your real identity. This body isn't your real identity. There were many bodies before this body. When this body falls, you'll get many more. Many gentlemen, on listening to such a thing say that this is why we've planned that in this birth, we'll do a lot of fun and frolic. In the next birth, we'll find the Lord. We'll enjoy the world, now. And if it is the Lord we are talking about, then there would be many births, so, no problem! In this birth, we will go for enjoying pleasures of the world! -Go ahead! There's no end to foolishness. And ignorance makes a person idiot- this is no surprise! If there's a great blessing, great good fortune... They asked, "Whose blessing?" They replied, "There are just 2 blessings! Either the Lord's grace or the sage's grace!" They wondered, "These are two!" They said, "No, it's 2-in-1!" "How?" "When there would be the Lord's grace, only then he would meet a sage! So, there's just 1 grace, not 2!" They asked, "How does grace play a role in this?" Grace is there because when we'll meet the sages, then, the sages would say something. When they would say, then what would it be? They will say this that this body isn't you! This visible world isn't true! This is illusion. It is false. And you are distinct from the body, senses, mind, intellect, the true being. And as such a thing is understood, then all his worldly race would cease, & when the worldly race ceases, then, the poet says, "As peace descended into my heart," "As... peace descended into my heart, then it felt as if" "that peace descended into the world!" It's not only we who'll stop, For us, the entire world would come to the halt. When the body isn't my identity... The discreetness from the body begins to come into our experience. So, the body wouldn't hook you. If the body attachment wouldn't be there, then to understand the self, he would seek solitude and spiritual practices, & in life, gradually, he would keep progressing... Spiritual progress, which is referred here. The greatest thing which comes, it's that you become carefree. Are you carefree? It's my question to you? Are you carefree? You have concern for all... concern means worry. As there is attachment, for things. So, loss of possessions, this worry, this concern... May my honor stay intact... This worry, this concern... Today, I'm well. Tomorrow, if I lose health, then...? There's worry, concern. Today, there's wealth. Tomorrow, if we lose wealth, what would we do? This is also worry, concern. A gentleman met me. He was highly miserable. What happened? -He had a huge business. Then, some losses occurred, & a lot of his operations halted. As work came to a stop, then, he said, "I incurred a loss of millions!" I said, "But, you've worked for so many years.." "You surely would have some saving!" He said, "Yes, please! I have saved about 200 million!" I said, "Oh, madman! From 200 million, even if you spend 2 lakhs every month," "then, not only you, but your son can also fill the tummy, effortlessly!" "Why are you crying?" "Ji, all that I have lost, I am crying due to that!" "Well," "that which you lost, it never belonged to you!" A human being nurtures worries. -The world is true. May it stay just as it is... & every day, worry... What should I do? There are 2 methods here. The first, is the path of devotion, in which everything belongs to the Lord. And we also belong to the Lord. Now, in which ever way life goes on, it's just good. So, in whatever way he keeps me, it's just good. Nothing belongs to me. You're saved from all depression and frustration. The second- -It's that of True Knowledge. Alongside this body, mind, intellect, when the entire world is illusion, then, in illusion, what would you lose and what would you gain? Ehhh... In Gurbani, a very beautiful example comes, Hmmm... A king slept on his throne... In his dream, he became a beggar. His kingdom is intact, but separated from it, he faced a lot of misery. The same is our plight. His kingdom is intact, but separated from it, he faced a lot of misery- same is our plight The line means that at night, in dream, 'narpat' which means King. A king, while sitting on his golden throne, fell into slumber. And in dream, he sees that he has become poor. And he's wandering door to door. Whatever his kingdom is, all that, he has lost. And he has become absolutely poor, absolutely a pauper. They say the condition in which he is, the same is our condition. He fell asleep. Sitting on the golden throne. And he's considering himself a beggar. Similarly, you have fallen into the slumber of ignorance, wrong knowledge. And you consider yourself as a human being... that I am a human being. I am this person's son. I am this person's daughter. They are my children. This is my home. Well, you're dreaming. 'Same is our plight!" The same is our condition. Like, that king, in his dream loses everything, similarly, you also are a king. But, you have forgotten yourself, and you consider yourself as a common woman, or man, or a child, or an old man or a young person and feel miserable.-This isn't there, that isn't there! -This isn't there, that isn't there!... You go on doing this all the time... But, this isn't the reality. It's not true. You're going crazy for others at all times. Sometimes, you're singing the tune of kids, other times for someone else... The poet says, "Why would he go 'shaida' for another one?" Shaida means crazy..."Why would he go going crazy for another one?" "Who didn't understand his real 'self' despite being that 'self'?" If you don't understand your 'self', then how would you understand 'others'? Just a while ago, I had a talk with a girl, she was complaining that my husband doesn't understand me! Doesn't understand me! My husband doesn't understand me! This dialogue is such- I've heard it from a lot of people! All keep saying, all... Someone says, "My mom doesn't understand me!" Another says, "My mother-in-law doesn't understand me!" "My husband doesn't understand me!" "My kids don't understand me!" "My siblings don't get me!" Business partners say that-My partner doesn't understand me! This... is a thing to reflect upon... We're saying... That girl said, "My husband doesn't understand me!" I asked her, "Do 'you' understand your 'self'?" You're accusing him, "He's very stubborn," "He's very rude, aggressive... this and that..." Well, dear, you should pay a little attention unto yourself as well... How are you? You know what's remorseful here... What should I say? You would say, "Sure, it's a spiritual satsang talk, we understand. Now, you also say to us for the worldly affairs... that you lack sensibility!" But, pardon me, This is what I'm going to say...! This is the the truth. When you have to marry, then, you check the boy's height, earning, car... You never check the intellect. Do you check the intellect? And on the boy's side, when they seek a girl, they say, she should be fair & lovely! Oh, crazy! You live in the land of Krishna. You live in the Beautiful Dusky's land, and die to get a fair lady... Fair means white. Need a white skin! It is just very... odd to think so... What would you do of white skin? If there wouldn't be any intellect in fair-skinned's brain, then what would you do? And they check a girl, "Well, how does she look?" Then, they ask "Okay, what is her level of study " Then, they may ask, Umm.... "Well, does she...ummm... know how to cook and all; taking care of the home?" "Yes!" She's good enough... She's fine... Okay, she's wearing good clothing! Talks nicely. Okay, it's good to go- follow up with the wedding formalities. House and property is seen. The girl's father's house is seen. His reputation is seen. Oh reputation...! Just a while ago, a gentleman was telling me, in a case where a talk of matrimony ensued, they said, "Send the latest details of the boy's bank account!" Does the boy own a personal account? If there is some saving in his personal account, only then we will proceed with the talk for marriage! If he borrows from his father, takes pocket money from his mom, then we won't consider him for marriage. And they sent that also. "That, okay, this is the salary, this is the saving..." "You can check this!" So, are you marrying the bank account or the fair skin, with his height or with his car? No one tests the intellect? Later on, they say, "She's an idiot. Doesn't know a thing!" I had said yesterday, what did the modern daughter-in-law say on entering the home? -That keep on doing the jobs you all were doing already. I've come only to keep your son pleased. Don't expect anything else from me! However, while marrying, they don't pay attention to the temperament, intellect. Just the facial beauty... How would facial beauty help if the mind isn't good! How would behavior help if the face isn't nice? You don't check the behavior, character, intellect, only the face...!? And, if you start checking the intellect, then, know it for truth, except for the Lord, there's none other who's perfect neither anyone can be! Now, the imperfect ones you'll get because you're also imperfect. Some flaws are in you, some flaws in them. Now, when two flawed people get married, then both have to make a few compromises. Friends were sitting together. All had got married 1-2 years back. They were discussing among themselves "How's it going- Your married life?" One said, "Very troublesome. Every day, there's a conflict!" Another said, "My mother-in-law interferes a lot. My wife listens only to her mother!" All were lamenting. One of them was sitting very quietly. They wondered, "Well, don't you have an issue?" He said, "No!" They wondered, "How is this possible?" He replied, "See, both of us run the household sharing duties!" "I cook the food, she eats!" "I do the laundry, she wears!" "I earn the money and hand it over to her, she spends!" "And we always go out for dinner every 2 days in a week, I go on a Tuesday, she goes out on a Saturday!" "An absolutely first-class setting is there!"
