'Raktabeej' is nobody else but your conscious mind only when a Sadhak- a spiritual aspirant, sits for meditation he removes one thought two comes, removes two, three come removes three, four comes, removes four, five come and then such time comes that only thoughts remain and he won't know what concentration is? In a continuity many times I saw this that many scome to ashram that will do silent spiritual practice for 21 days but on 5th, 6th, 7th day they come worried it's very difficult, I can't sit because in that rule is you will stay at your room all the time you won't come outside will come only for food, rest of the time stay with yourself stay alone, stay in solitude and remain silent and when you are silent from tongue then it is observed that how much noise mind makes this much that one becomes nervous one wrote me "I am silent from 5 days, but now I feel like shouting" why did such situation come? because it's becoming difficult to deal with crowd of own thoughts desperation is happening mind can't stay without thinking and when mind thinks so sometimes its subject is that this will be good for me this thing is not good for me after everything there is 'I'- for 'I' everything is happening so the thought process of 'I' that is there, it keeps on running about subjects and objects in the center point is you and anything related or regarding you, your mind is always going to gorge into those thoughts and this is much deeper gorge than even the Grand Canyon and higher than Mount Everest deeper than Pacific Ocean mind can go so deep mind knits the darkness so the greatest problem of meditation is the kshipta (disturbed) state of mind is becoming kshipta let me say again, until you sit alone you will not get introduced to this disturbing state of your mind Today, a lady was saying me what you made us do today morning, it was good but there was no sound of your singing so I was missing it a lot she said,"I love Urja very much" in Urja your voice is there, I sit with instructions- I feel very good now, in a way when you are doing a guided meditation in which my voice is there it is good in beginning but then you have to do learn how to do it without music, without my voice instructions also okay- there is no sound, no music and I will say sit with closed eyes two things will happen, either you will fall asleep or you will be lost in thoughts now you will get to know only when you will do it if you have never done then how will you know? sitting withot any aid is excruciatingly difficult when I ask you to sit just watching your breath, nothing to do you don't like. See, when you do Urja (a meditation technique) Kapalbhati pranayam continues for long time that includes music, a rythm is also there what happens there...gradually the thoughts that are buried in mind, they start to come out slowly such hormones start to secrete, such chemicals start getting released which through your brain gives your mind feeling of great happiness so you are doing Urja, while doing you feel like crying body moves or laughter comes or dance is happening and after all this happened, how good it feels so it felt good by crying, laughing or moving, or what? now when you did the process of pranayam, then all those suppressed emotions came out when they come out, mind becomes light actually what I'm referring to as the light mind, when it happens after that, if a sadhak sits again then possibly thoughts will also be less mind will be more stable you have so much of emotional baggage that that has to be removed and urja meditation method is so strong and powerful it helps you to do that, hence it is it is going to become a very favourable method to do but I am saying, not using any powerful pranayam method but just sitting and going inward and making mind quieter and then it is a challenge, then it becomes difficult Mind will think something- 'chintayam achintayam' mind will think good about something 'Pakshapat Vinirmuktam Brahma Sampadyate Tada' but when your mind becomes free from partiality, means neither think in favour of anything nor think against of anything neither for nor against any object when your mind goes into quietude this is the state where the contemplation on Brahma will happen when mind thinks neither for nor against of anything mind becomes quiet this is a very beautiful Shabad, I can recall there is an excellent scripture of Vedanta called 'Paksha-Pata Rahita Anubhava Prakasha' it's an beautiful scripture Paksha-Pata Rahita Anubhava Prakasha may our mind becomes free of partiality J.Krishnamurthy calls this state as choiceless awareness choiceless consciousness, there is no choice in mind when your are mind is not in favour or against of anything and you are totally aware and conscious this particular state will help you will take you the point where you can contemplate on Parabrahma this is very beautiful verse naiva cintyam na cacintyam na cintyam cintyam-eva ca paksapata vinirmuktam brahma sampadyate tada our mind is such that it has disease of relentless thinking and it doesn't go not at all able to let it go I narrate a story to you in this context A king started loosing his hair more every time he would look into the mirror, he would find that more hair have gone Hair is the symbol of beauty and if hair became less then how would I look being bald? So some doctor, medicine, oil be found so that my hair could be saved so he announced that id some Vaidya could come up with a remedial oil that would stop my hair fall I will give him reward of 1lac INR now hearing about reward of one lakh INR how many people will come bringing oil along with that he also added that if my hair fall doesn't stop with it so I will chop that vaidya's head now who would go? sometimes people sell things like this- do this and this will happen I am recalling once in England I had a satsang a person was sitting, half bald, in the back there was some hair sitting in front of me, he was doing like this for some times I saw then I said,"What are you doing?" he said, "By doing this, hair will grow" I said, "Do later, no difference will happen in one hour" I am seeing him since last 12 years 2-4 which were there, they are also gone now so, many people give formulas one said, "wrap cow dung on head" and sit in the sun one said, "in that dung put some rat feaces too..." "then put on head and then sit" one said, "pigeon droppings have so much vitamin" "so mix pigeon's droppings and dung like this and there you put honey, neem, moringa" "and then sit by putting that paste on your head and make a dog lick" he said, "honey is put because only then a dog will lick"- which dog will lick something like this, otherwise? so there are many formula, so king said, "see formula is that which works, if it will work then reward of one lakh INR, if it won't work then will chop head" One vaidya (ayurvedic physician) came now how much surety would be there in him? he said,"it will happen with my oil" said, "I am here, would you allow me to go?" so I am here for one month, you apply oil But king here you have to take care of one thing He asked, ,"what?" Vaidya said, "when this oil is applied in hair then you shouldn't think of monkey" what is the formula the physician said I am giving you this miracle oil and then your hair will regrow and you will not remain bald but only condition is that if you are apply this oil then you are not supposed to think about monkey, you have to make sure you do not think about monkey, if you do, this oil will not work King said, "Please give me oil" He applied the oil and then what happened only monkeys and monkeys are there only monkeys he had never thought of monkey, now he is sitting applying oil and monkey and monkey monkey...monkey...monkey and one day a real monkey came there whom you will remember, he will come you will remember monkey, monkey will come the point of relating this story is that when you sit down closing eyes you think, "there should not be any thought" this is the monkey thing the moment you said, "there should be no thought" the mind says ,"let me tell you now" "who is your master" then there are thoughts coming- one after another and when thoughts run, mind is disturbed, how can the body sit still then? When the thought of monkey won't come then only the oil will work nobody in the world will able to work like this meditation means mind stops, meditation means mind is still bhajan means where mind stops, becomes still where it doesn't stops, becomes still, it is not meditation with meditation the thing which is needed is very big patience naiva cintyam na cacintyam our mind should not go towards any object mind should be this much peaceful and still when the state of mind will be like this then only in this stilled state of mind can one meditate upon the Brahma let's take the next Shloka svarena samdhayed yogam asvaram bhavayet param asvarenanubhavena nabhava bhavo va abhava ishyate now here, Adishankar is giving the solution 'svarena samdhayet yogam' a sound should be generated and the space appearing as gap between one sound and the next the space that is there one should become aware of that pause means, though there are thousands of thoughts running in mind now instead of those thousands thoughts you run one thought by yourself and what should be that thought? He is giving us here only one 'swar'- the sound even not a thought, only one sound, of what? 'Om' Om..Om..Om..Om when we say one 'Om' and after that when we say next there is a space between two become aware of this pause the more and more you start becoming aware of that pause the mind will begin getting more and more quieter
