Only five elements are there - Earth (prithvi), fire (agni), water (jala), wind (vayu) and space (akasha) and its five further..... This we call Tanmatra in Vedanta The experiences which you'll have with your senses; Right? So word, touch, form, taste, smell These which you experienced through mind It sat in your intellect as a memory Now you won't forget like if anything you ate in childhood- that has more clearer memory bathed in the rain What was the experience— you felt cold, what did happen ? That you won't forget Now let's say— Lord Is Lord a word ? No Because the word is formed when space is there Is the Lord something that we can touch? No touch needs air element, If there is no air element then there is no touch See, it was cold this morning here in the pandaal (marquee) it's not cold at this time it's hot right now It's hot or it's cold, How are you feeling this? Is hot or cold is visible through the eyes? Say Hearing through ear? Smelling through nose? Licking air through tongue ? No Your skin is telling that now it's hot and now it's not hot; it's cold, Now the wind is blowing strongly— you know it all through the Sparsh (sense of touch) Sparsh works through the air element Where there's no air, there will be no touch What will you feel? So, can we touch the Lord? In order to touch, His body is required Now like I have again bought this flower When I'll touch this flower, it will feel soft but the Lord is not an object like a flower that I can touch Parmatma cannot be touched because anything that we can touch is the five elemental and Parmatma is not made up of five elements Are you getting it? Now that which we can't touch or smell.... Okay can we see the Lord? I say a simple thing, Can you see the air? Say it? No! Okay, The Sky that we see is not Space (akaash) Akaash means the empty space That which gives space is Space Now can we see the space through our eyes? You say that the Aakash is blue today It's milky white or has turned black with the dawn of the night. This is not the space which is getting bluish, blackish, or yellowish These colours that we see in the sky are because of the Sun and if the Sun is not there then it is completely dark, so these colors are of the sky, not the space Earth, water, fire, air, space - these five elements If we go behind them then what is there? We call that- 'Panch Mahabhoot' What is behind these panch mahabhoot? It is said, 'Prakriti' and what is behind this prakriti? Parmatma You can't see space though eyes, can't see air through eyes How can you see Prakriti through eyes, then how can you see Parmatma through eyes? Are you getting what I am saying? Ramayana says, 'Kshiti jal pavak agan sameera' 'Panch rachit ye adham sharira' Kshiti Jal Pavak Agan Sameera space, water, fire, air, earth From these this body is made; this lowly body is made So the Parmatma is not the body whom we can see through the eyes And listen to the second thing— Even you are not the body! It is also a big mistake that I am the body; No, you are not the body Body is just a dress like you wear the clothes Wore robe in the morning, now wearing a sari So I am not these clothes Similarly this body is a robe, I am not this Truth is this that because Parmatma is formless and I am part of Parmatma So 'I' too should be formless like father like son get a deeper meaning of this, if you can catch What is the essence of the Lord? Gita says; Krishna himself says - 'Avyaktam, asparsham, ashabdam, ashrotam' This is my form 'Yomam Pashayati sarvatra sarvam'- I reside in all, all reside in me How? How? Like there's water in every drop Like there's water in every wave Likewise Parmatma is there in every Jeeva Namdev Ji says, 'Jal tarang or fen budbuda jal te bhinn na hoyi' 'sab govind hai sab govind hai, govind bin nahi koi' All is Govind Okay see Go-binda The word 'Go' in Sanskrit means the Senses 'Binda'- that which gives the base to them So the One who is the substratum of your senses— He is Gobinda Now it gets difficult; I say Gobinda and then show you the Krishna's Picture, You all will catch it easily— Yeah, we got it! If I say, removing the body of Krishna the remaining true-ever-conscious-ever blissful (Sat- Chit- Ananda) existence is Krishna Then you'll say, how is that possible? How is it possible? So first, you have to understand that 'who am I' So I am not the body This body is not mine and this body is not 'I' as well Hmmm? So when I am not the body, Can Parmatma be the body? No Now the question arises, How do we remember the One who is not visible, not audible, can't be held? How do we remember? Like, If it is said that remember Rama; So some people remember and worship that which is idol of the Rama— the one holding the bow and arrows Some say no, keep the word Ram written in front of your eyes— this is akin to remembering the Rama and Ram Chandra Ji himself says what? Sant Tulsi Ji have this said through His mouth only that— Say it, who you are? So Rama Ji says; He says this from His own mouthpiece 'Vishay karan sur jeev sameta' 'sab teh ek ek sucheta' 'sab kar param prakashak joyi' 'raam anaadi avadh pati soyi' the senses are subtler than the subjects(Vishaye) You understood the Vishaye now? What are the subjects? Five; What are they? word, touch, form, taste, smell We again come back to this flower. That's why I kept it here, telling it to stay for we will be needing it for (explaining) a lot many things today Didn't know what I was about to say but yet I kept it We can see the flower What did you see? It's form (roop). What did you see? (Audience- Roop)— Yes! And if we smell it then what comes out? It's fragrance Th Gandha If you put its petal in the mouth and chew, some taste will come— good, bad, or whatever and if you shake it, the shade (sound) will be heard in the ear And if we touch it like this then what came? It's Sparsha (the sense of touch) is felt So Shabda (word), Sparsha (touch), Roop (form), Rasa (taste), Gandha (smell) These five are known as the Vishaya (subjects) and to experience these, we have five senses Eyes, ears, nose, tongue and touch, We have skin for sense of touch So Tulsi says, 'Vishay karan sur jeev sameta' the senses are subtler than the objects Okay let's play a game Just tell me by touching which are the eyes Tell me! The Netra Indri? What are the eyes? Touch them Okay, Ears? Okay, Nose? Okay, Tongue? Okay, Skin? Oh my Lord, you are remained the small kids All have started; Pointing like this and this So nice of you How sweet are all! These are not the eyes! I asked to touch the sense of sight (Netra Indri) This outer design of eye which is there, this doesn't see The Shakti (energy) which is inside it through which we see, that is called the Netra Indri (sense of sight) That which stays inside but works for outside If you see a blind person Retina, eye ball and lashes— all are formed, and yet he can't see Likewise, this ear is not an Indri (sense); the power of hearing which is there that is the Karan Indri (the sense of hearing) A deaf have fully formed ears and yet he can't hear The power of hearing is not there Nasika Indri— the sense of smell I asked which is the Nasika Indri? This is the outer organ The Shakti of smelling in it is called the Nasika Indri Now can you see the power governing the sense of smelling through your eyes? Can we see the power of hearing in ear through eyes? One had a brain stroke; had paralysis Hands are same, legs are same but now they can't be lifted The power through which, the energy through which the movement of hand was happening, now it's not happening Doctor says that the connectivity is broken In paralysis Let me say a small thing about this subject— it's a bit deviated First thing: Don't let high blood pressure stay for too long Not through the medicine but treat it via Pranayam and Yog nidra as soon as possible because There is greater chance of having a stroke if there's high Blood pressure Of Brain, liver, heart— any stroke may happen If stroke happened, it will get very difficult that's why, don't keep the escalated blood pressure; Not at all! Do what you have been taught in the morning. Those who couldn't come in the morning, Naadi Shodhan Pranayam's CD will be available— take that. Learn and do it sitting at home Practise Yog Nidra and if possible eat Sendha Salt instead of iodized salt Eat Iodized salt where there's a deficiency of iodine in the body Otherwise you should take Sendha Salt. Ayurveda says, just by eating Sendha salt, more than hundred diseases can be cured Sendha salt You will get it at the grocery store; Use good quality Sendha salt If stroke happens then the sooner you can find an acupuncturist That acupuncturist can cure it; He can for sure cure it I am saying this because we have a clinic of acupuncture in our Ashram and paralysis happened (to someone) One patient came— one complete side paralysed- neither leg nor arm or hand could move He was treated for 1.5 months through acupuncture and alongside the Ayurvedic massage routine was followed She used to practise Yog Nidra and Pranayam daily— Within a span of 1.5 month It looked a bit funny though but whomsoever she met, she would lift her arms up like this and say look, my arms have gone up everyone used to say, what's the big deal? She said, it didn't moved for 3 years, that's why I am saying it! For me it's a big deal So she used to show everyone by lifting her arms This woman was 60 years plus So the acupuncture works pretty fast and quite well in paralysis but I have to say that why would you even reach the paralysis stage? Keep your blood pressure under control beforehand And let me add one more thing Merely listening to my Satsang isn't going to cure your BP; you will have to do Sadhana for that Sit and do Pranayama for half an hour By doing Pranayama regularly, your blood pressure will remain normal and controlled Do Yog Nidra along alongside Pranayama You'll fast get even better result with that This Shakti that was driving the hand; The power through which hot and cold was being felt That's not happening anymore, Why? That Shakti isn't working anymore. Can we see that energy through our eyes? No, we can't! So the senses are subtler than the subjects and the Devta (deity; Demi God) of the senses are subtler than the senses— What does Devta mean? The energy through which your Indri (sense) works, that became the Devta of that Indri and they said, who is even subtler than that? Rama— The eternal; The boundless Supreme— That's Him Who is subtler than the subtle? Who farther than the beyond; They said, It is that Rama only.
