Let me say it again; What is obstacle on the path of Gyana? Attachment to the sensory objects Will the Anantmakara Vritti go away in an a person engrossed in the sensory indulgence. The second obstacle: the mind's vikshepa (disturbances) Why Vikshepa happens? Because something is sought and one is not getting it and what it gets, it doesn't want The mind in which there is Vikshepa Will his Anantmakara Vrittis be destroyed? and why is it all happening? Because of the lack of intelligence If intellect had been sound, Would you have fallen in such traps? Neither found Maya nor Rama— now just sitting and beating sticks This is what happens in this world! Things come, things go Reputation comes, it goes. The health won't stay all the times Some disease might come, some body part is not working well— Fallen in that mess! Now go and get treatment done from doctors and keep thinking what if I'll die; what if I'll die; what if I'll die A lady came here She said, "I'm in immense grief". I asked, "Why?" She said, "Doctors have told that I have breast cancer" I said, Then? She said, "they (doctors) are saying, we'll do chemotherapy, reduce its size then after six months all this procedure then they'll do the surgery" She was crying, "what will happen?" I said, "what will happen?" what will happen with cancer? It is in one part of the body then get the treatment done! She said, "It's very dangerous, what if something happens to me!" I said, "That will happen anyways, but will happen one day only" The thing is, death of the body is not acceptable Death of the body is not acceptable! That is why the fear comes as soon as someone hears the news like that The fear comes; She continued, 'My children are so young' Now what should I say? Well, the kids whose mothers die, they are also raised— the Prakriti- Mother Nature, is anyways grow them up; Everyone survives. Who doesn't survive? This is one foolishness that remains seated in our mind that 'Since I'm there, I'm taking care of everything; Once I die, the things will fall apart' Excuse my words, this feel good illusion was there in the Kings of all times; All have died. And yet the world is going on pretty well! Those who say this thumping their chest and patting their head that 'I have done, I will do this; I have done; I'll do this' This is known as the egotism With such big ego in your head They say, 'I am sitting and doing meditation with my closed eyes!' What sort of meditation will happen? It's difficult This is the condition of Brahman-vidya— Abhorrence of Anantmakara Vrittis is imperative that Brahmakara Vrittis' should alone flow as unceasingly as the stream of oil After this realisation After getting established in the pure self Now what's the duty? Then just abide in Ananda— pure bliss It is foolish to link your identity to the body, — it is Adhyasa (superimposition) foolish to link your identity with the mind, is adhyasa (superimposition) and this Adhyasa is reason of bondage in the lives and when we get liberated from this Adhyasa, then what bondage? Remember what came in the previous Shloka like space which is inside the pot, it is the same space outside it but when we move the pot from one place to another, then the space doesn't go anywhere Similarly in the pot of this body and mind Brahman abides within and without The body may remain or not, Brahman remains as it is Mind may remain or not, Brahma remains as it is, and who is this Brahma? 'Brahman tad Brahman aham iti' So are you a child Madhav? Are you a foolish? See Are you 'Chuakhe'— the one with four eyes? Are you? You didn't get Chuakhe? Four eyes! When one is wearing glasses, jokingly, it is said that you've got four eyes. If someone says, are you a Chuakhe? In Hindi if we says, Are you a 'Chashmish'? Are you fatty, black or white in color..? Okay, it's a pretty weird thing Body is far from us Senses are somewhat close Mind is even closer and the intellect is closest to my true Self Now your foot is in pain and somebody asks, is your foot hurting? You will say, yes now it's better or alright, whatever it is! but you feel happy that he asked of your well being because sometimes I feel that people get sick only to seek attention As nobody enquires of their well being otherwise But if you get sick, suddenly you receive attention. Even your enemies will turn up to know how your state of being is If one asks, It seems that you are unwell listening to that gives you a feeling of contentment that he asked about my well being If one gets an eye infection Develops conjunctivitis gets an eye infection If someone say your eyes doesn't appear to be in a good shape? So you will say yes it isn't, I have got a flu, treatment is going on, it will be alright But It feels good (that someone asked)! But what if somebody says to you that your intellect doesn't appear to be in a good shape? Then how will you feel? Say it! When someone remarked on the bad state of your body, you didn't feel bad. When someone said it for the eyes, it didn't feel bad But when we say, your intellect has gone haywire, why does it affect you negatively? Think upon it! It is so because the intellect is closest to me, so the reflection of "I-ness" is in it that is why when someone says that you have a bad intellect, you get rattled, 'How did you even say that? The sickness in the body is acceptable If ear doesn't hear properly, somebody says, can't you hear? Yes, I can't hear. They'll say put a machine, You'll say, 'Yeah, I'll get that one' If someone says, your intellect doesn't work well, get a machine for it! Will you feel good? So disassociating 'I-ness' from the body is difficult but even more tough is to disassociate it from the intellect So in these pots akin to body, mind, and intellect, you have stuck your 'I-ness'; and this is what the cause of your misery is! This is the cause of your ignorance This is the cause of your bondages If we remove the body, senses, mind, and intellect, then behind all these is your real Self alone Where is your focus? Is your attention is on the Self or is it on your body? Is your attention is on the Self or on the mind? Is your vision is on the Self or is it on the intellect? When you link your I-ness to the intellect, you become a Jeeva When you link your 'I-ness' to the mind, you become a sinner or a saint When you link I-ness to your body, you become child, young, old, healthy or diseased, got birth or died Now they say, 'We'll die; We'll die' Will you die? Okay, when you meet others you ask, 'When is your birthday'? He asks why? Will you gift us something? Okay, if we throw a party, will you come? The other person replies, 'If you'll invite us, for sure we'll come' It feels so good, right? This is how friendships get formed Now you go and ask someone, 'When is your death day'? 'You tell us, we will come to offer our condolences' 'Will definitely come, tell us when it is?' 'When will you die?' 'When is your death day?' If someone asks then A big fight will ensue May you die, may your mother die, your father die, may your entire clan die, Why should I die? This is the only thing, The 'I' never dies When did the 'I' die? Neither before nor It is going to die now! So to recognise and know your own true Self this Gyana is required but what sort of Gyana? That which flows as incessently as the stream of oil and when the Brahmakara Vritti is formed, then and if Anatmakara Vritti gets annihilated, then if Anatmakara Vritti is not removed and in such a state one proclaims, 'I am Brahma' then Then even this person assuming himself to be Brahma is bound to get trashed then this so called Brahma ji will sit and cry a lot I got badly insulted; I got badly insulted and if you see from the perspective of Kabir ji the one who is speaking is also 'You' only and the one who is getting the beatings... Who has beaten? 'You' have beaten! Who did your first aid? 'You did', Who brought the milk? 'You brought' So only 'you' is there On the path of Bhakti, the devotee says, 'Lord, everything is You'' and In Vedanta Gyana we say, 'I and you', this very notion exists because of the mind When there is mind in between, then there is 'I and You' If there is no mind in between, then what is 'I' and what is 'You' ? Say it now we are lost in the town of love In the town of love, there isn't any 'I' and You' and if 'I and You' are still there then he hasn't reached in that town of love.. Hasn't reached yet! You may connect your hearts wherever you wish; It will break And it is a good that it breaks! Because If it doesn't break then you are so foolish that you'll hold onto the objects of desire I want this.. I want this.. I want this...Like small child insists.. I want this.. He'll cry, tear off clothes, roll in the mud will do everything to fulfill his wish Even if the desire gets fulfilled , then what? that phrase, 'Even if you this world, then what?' What is it? They say, what would you know?; Let us have it first, then will tell what it is? At the moment, we are not able to have it; So we can only sigh! We can tell only once we have it So the desire is there, and this desire proffers misery Illuminate your intellect with the light of this Gyana; So the churning of intellect is imperative. If you don't do the churning then- Like a Shloka came earlier, "Ghee is present in every drop of milk" 'Bhute bhute ghritam' Ghee is present in every drop of that milk but until it is not churned, it is not melted Till then ghee is not made Likewise, you are an embodiment of Brahma but until you won't churn this intellect you won't realize till then Okay, until the realisation dawns upon, only this will go on— O, we don't know where the Lord is and we are here And then we are afraid of dying and living We don't know, what will happen to us? Whether will go in heaven or hell? Where we will go? This was one Mahatma a sage or a an orator of Kathas- you may take him as whatever he got angry with me Out of anger, He said this in his satsang in front of his audience She will go to hell They told me I said, no problem, I do Amrit varsha here, will do Amrit varsha there as well No problem at all! No problem at all! Those who heard, they came to me very sad; they were crying that see what they spoke about you I said, "what did he say? First thing you see, how much he loves me that instead of talking about Lord, he's talking about me" Number one Number Two: He's only sending me somewhere, right? So it's a good thing if you go somewhere out Destination vacation happens so it's good, nothing bad in that They said, "he spoke about you going to the hell", I said, "Firstly, what's your problem? Second: "I will gave to go, not you" Third: wherever I'll go, will do Amrit Varsha. I have to do satsang only, then do it here; Now see— When in Gannaur, I'm doing satsang there Take me to Rishikesh, I'll do satsang there Take me Australia, take me America, take me England, take me Greece or take me to China, What will I do? This is the only thing that I'll do— rest I don't know anything Now if you ask me to fill our Income tax, I don't know how to do that You say fight our case in the court, I'll say, I don't know how to do that Don't know all these works But what I know, I will do that only; So what's the problem? Will do Satsang wherever we will sit And 'Hell and Heaven is just a proverb' It is only a proverb for us because when the world is Maya and my illusion then what is the reality for hell and heaven? So what's the fear of hell and greed for heaven? None! So 'dvandaer vimuktah sukh dukha sange' The one who gets liberated from duality As the light of this Eternal wisdom dawned one got free from duality, so the one who has gone beyond duality, what would he wish for? Nothing! What should he do? Nothing He should be fearful of what/whom? From no one. What should he be greedy about? Nothing So this AmritaBindu Upanishad is saying 'Contemplate' do the churning Churn this Arani of egotism Manifest that flame; Manifest that fire whose light liberates you from your ignorance; whose illuminance frees you of your idiocies That's all for today!
