What is Moksha in Vedanta AV Epi 2136 Daily Satsang 24th December 2023 Anandmurti Gurumaa

[Music] [Music] la [Music] the thing is that vidanta is not meant to be hypothetically studied vidanta is not like um theems or algebra questions or philosophy you know philosophy is is to think hypothetically about something and go for options of answers which may or may not be true hence the word comes the philosophi so too many assumptions hypothesis and and every mind is too much of uh affected and colored with their prejudices their upbringing to politics of that Society the society the family the personal traumas of the person the aspirations hates likes dislikes uh beliefs everything is creating a lay after lay on the mind and now with this mind if somebody wishes to learn Vidant oh it's near to Impossible that's why the the preparation for the vidanta is listed in four things that you have to have these four attributes in you one via that is ability to discriminate into truth and untruth second is dispassion Vaga when I say Vaga then it means that there is no Allure or attraction or Obsession for any sensual object or a person that's what roughly I can in short called what Vaga is then comes the shutti shut means six STI means treasure so one has to have six Treasures in one's mind this this is all preparation for Vidant so beginning from some that is equanimity Dum your senses are in your command you are not being led by your senses and your senses uh obey and listen then comes the ability to preser extremes of Life hot cold fame um disame pleasure sorrow hot cold weather hunger thirst one can endure that Tia the one word is Tia then come samadan samadhan means that one has tasted the samadhi see now the samadi is the last in the eight letter eight uh strain stairs of this letter of the yog is and You Begin from Yama and you end to the samadi so this means one who has perfected the yog is only eligible in a way right and samadi these eight steps for the Raj yog has to be Mastered by the person and although we have another opinion that if somebody is in a bti mark devotion the devotion can lead the mind to the same state as a yogi can with all these external and internal practices like we have great great um Baka devotees like uh mea a women must women Baka devote from Rajasthan then um we have seai well she was more of a guru Baka than any personal God Baka and there's a long list of so they never did any yoga or as or Dar or prayam but through the devotion itself towards the personal god um their mind would come into that Purity and calm and ESS and Beauty and the Oneness with the with the godhead which happens to that person so the mind has no passion has via it all comes it begins to fall you know everything in the places and last but not the least the fourth attribute is of mukuta mukuta is made of from the root word Moka so mumuk means the desire for gaining bondage free stat many people Loosely and wrongly interpret Moka into that I should not be born again that's not true we don't see in vedanta we don't see Moka as uh going out of this life death cycle and and birth death cycle and never being born again again we don't we don't Define Moka in that way the Moka in vidanta is being bondage free you are not bondaged with your body with your mind with your samsaras the Deep impressions of all the past lives and the mind is not um slave of anything and the realization of the pure self has happened the atmagyan the self knowledge has happened that is what mokata is in viant in bti Mark the Moka is defined in a very different way like if you are a devotee of s Krishna then the the the holy book says that you end up being in the land where SRI Krishna is that is the and where for eternity you become like a friend or um um lover or servant of uh of s Krishna and then you are always in in this goes on and on and that's the highest achievement which a baka wishes for but in vant we don't see Moka in that way we are not looking at one place particularly where s Krishna or Shiva or Ram lives in uh it's an astral world so it's far far away they say so but vant says that the substratum the absolute reality is omnicient so you can't say that God lives in this address alone like for Christians it is jerus for Islam people it is the makah Medina for many Hindus it might be Kashi or vavan or um some another holy place or rishikes the popular tourist destination these days which is now like an adventure place you know Boogie wogie and jumping and bung jumping and dancing and parting at the ganga G oh W what is happening um in vant we see Brahma as the substratum of this universe the physical universe so we are the gani or person who is on the knowledge of path of Ghana knowledge is not looking to reach out to some particular land you know Shiva Lo or goo or Krishna Lo or Heaven of Christians or Heaven of Islam or you know it's not like that and as yesterday one of my very dear Swami was saying that we don't believe in such Moka which you will gain only after death we believe in a Moka which you can get very very much being alive in this human body body so whatever is Promised after death is just a belief system and there's no way to check investigate where it is logistically or you can navigate through ask Google where is golok Google tell me oh my phone should not begin to [Laughter] [Music] talk substratum the absolute reality number one that's the point so the once this uh step one realization in Via is that I'm not this body mind intellect mind uh component and I am the pure self Atma and this is something which is an illusion which is there as in the dream world you see the whole world world seems real but on waking up oh it was all a dream and unreal so this is the very big difference in between a vant and the dualistic vant we don't see there are two entities we see as just one entity and rest is just illusion a projection created by your mind and if I say what's the location of mind you will say don't mind I don't know nobody knows whether it is in your foot or head or in or out or everything is happening in the mind so The Duality is there real for you as long as you are unrealized about your own truth once you have the realization of who you are then rest is just an illusion for example the sky looks blue but it's not blue that sky looks blue and at night it looks black and in morning Sunrise sometimes it looks all yellow and orange wonderful colors and if you're by Seaside it's a cloudless day and then the sunrise is happening you might not have a drama but if there are some clouds then you have a lot of drama happening on the skyline or at the sunset time but sky is neither yellow nor orange not blue and I Canada this time I saw magenta colors in the sky oh just quite a sight magenta colors in the sky and but as such sky is colorless but yet we see colors this is the best example of what does doesn't exist but seems to be existing so once you have realized what truth is everything else just seems to exist so as your question number two says um how is it to like to live in this dual world free of the illusion of duality I'll go back to very popular Vidant example and that's of rope and snake so it's a semi lited area not too much light not too much dark and you you saw oh there's a snake well even in Brazil I think a lot of snakes are there right India too many snakes she ah it's a snake and you got scared and your heart was racing and running and you ran and you fell down and you broke your radial bone and you were yelling in pain and asking for help and some people came and he said there's a snake and the person goes where let me see I don't get scared of snakes I'll catch it and so he goes and he says there is no snake why there is this is see in the corner so he goes closer with the stick and he moves the the King and then he lifts it and then laughs out loud oh is it just a piece of rope it's not a snake Now snake was an illusion and rope was the reality my question to you is um who broke his uh bone snake or rope but snake was not there now you can't say that the Rope broke his bone no rope can do that right and snake was never there so snake was in his illusion in Sanskrit we have the word for it brah Brahma means that seems to exist but doesn't exist see to explain one word I have to use at least six words Brahma and it means that which doesn't exist seems to exist in Sanskrit I'll just say Brahma that's it simple right so I always advise that do make an effort to learn Sanskrit language it has nothing to do with the um you know pressurizing anybody to learn a foreign language but it is that this is the language which will make things you know easier to understand like if you wish to do chemistry then you have to learn the abbreviations of all the chemicals in the gases so you won't say oxygen you will just say O2 you won't say carbon dioxide you will say CO2 for oxygen it will be o for hydrogen it will be H right for potassium it will be K not p uh similarly it is good if somebody makes an effort to learn Sanskrit and these days you know Google has made things pretty easy Sanskrit saman um it's organization they have posted hundreds of videos where you can learn um at home and beginning from Child level to going all the way to a very U Master's level there have the these classes so the snake was a brma an illusion but it made the person so afraid and scared and he was trembling and running and racing and stumbled and broke his bone and yet there was no snake okay now you have realized that there is no snake so you again walk by the same point will this person again get scared and trembling and racing heart and would rush out and again broke his another arm bone nope so this is how it is once you have realized the truth then whatever seems to exist doesn't exist so there is actually no uh place left for to do some adjustment or what should I do you know or what should I not do actually that is what the Liberation is you are totally out of this whole messy situation to adjust and to understand and what to do and what not to do because now things are so clear that's just two one at the pure real self and an Atma that is the non self which is not even real but seems to exist so that which just seems to exist what do you have to do for that actually [Music] nothing
