Today, we will begin with the same practice which we had done during the previous day; a bit of it, in the end. So, its refined practice- and a little deeper practice... So, we'll take it up today. Umm... Limiting the body's movements... The resolve for it, see, you only have to do it. If, with your resolve, you won't still your body... Lethargically... Sit listlessly or... I think that because the knees pain or the a back pains, so, you feel a need to unfold your legs. That is why, there is a great necessity to do the asanas. To do an internal practice, the body should be capable and strong; its very important. In the path of yoga, we can't do much with a langourish and diseased body. It's a fact that due to non-restraint and lack the knowledge of the asanas, you did not do all this. But this does not mean that you can't learn now. Or you can't do it now. So, there is no time limitation such that a person cannot do because the person is now at a certain age. The sutra tells that who can do the asanas? -It says, a child may do, old person may do, young person may do it, an extremely old person may do. A diseased person may do, a healthy person may do. May be done in the day, may be done at night. May be done in the evening. May be done at night time. So, there is no limit of time. There is no limitation due to age. There is just a need to do it with a resolve that I have to do this. And when you begin with a resolve, then things also start rolling. For this very reason-Morning asanas... So that when I make you sit, then you can sit properly. Apart from this, if some body part pains, for example of the back pains or the knees pain, Then, just like in the morning series, you were made to do chair pose-Utkatasana. Asana number 3 of yours. And I would want that all of you... The names of all these asanas, maybe you can write. memorize either by writing, or orally, but, this series; sequence of all these asanas... Sequentially, in a series, the list of names of all the asanas, if not the Sanskrit name, then at least the English name or th hindi version name should be remembered. So, in that when you do chair pose, which we call as Utkat asana, it was number 3 in your series, if you keep on practicing Utkat asana, in which you join the knees and feet and the way there's a chair and you're sitting on the chair, the same way, you bring your hips down-your hips and your knees that you should be in the same line. Means this much, you should, near-about come down. If you are above this, or go lower than this, means, in both situations, it not chair pose. The way you sit on a chair, it should be the same posture. But there is no chair, and you shins, legs, knees, ankles, feet, toes, sole of the foot, you use of all these parts, to stay this posture and in that you stay minimally for five breaths. If you keep doing and this practice is done consistently, in 6 months to 1 year, your umm... knees... They will get strong. Their ligaments will get stronger. And the padding present internally, that padding will get strengthened. And the possibility of having some knee issues is gone, if you do it regularly. The ones who have already got a problem, they, according to their capacity, if they practice a bit, everyday and alongside, Ummm... there's a peedantaka (pain-killer) oil in ayurveda. With that oil, massage your both knees, by yourself, clockwise and anticlockwise- Both ways, for at least 10 minutes. And if there is a deeper issue, then with Panchakarma- Janu basti-it's process, the knee is known as janu. So, there is basti of the knee that only a technician can do at a suitable panchakarma center, you can get it done. If you want it here, in the ashram too... But that should minimally go on for 15 days without miss. And after that you keep massaging by yourself. after a month, again get it done for 15 days. So, doing janu basti, the diseases of the knee, they get healed. A little correction of the diet should also be done. As excess cold, icy, curd, sour, if you keep eating, then these problems of yours will aggravate. So, the one who already has a vayu disease or arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Those are affected with this already, they should not even by mistake... Cold things, icy things... Things made from curd... Curd- -They should strictly avoid them. Umm... Take lukewarm water, warm water, and if possible then soak fenugreek seeds at night in a glass of water, a spoonful every morning-consume it and drink warm water. And green... green vegetables, cruciferous vegetables. So, green vegetables... Juice them to consume. Make soup to consume. But, more green vegetables content should go inside the body. And those who are affected already with arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. I am saying for them. -They should consume less pulses and also consume less milk and dairy products. With diet, first you rein in your disease so that it shouldn't aggravate. And with aahara (diet), aushadhi (medicine), & asana (yoga poses)- three a's of hindi. A for aahaara, 'a' for asana, 'a' for aushadhi.. So these three A-s of Hindi, bring them in your life ('Aa'-means come) now. Eat Ayurveda aahaara (diet), And take Ayurveda aushadhi (medicine), and practice asanas. So, these 3 As, if they come into your life, then the disease will go ('jaa' means go). As 'A' comes, then 'R'-rog (disease) will go away. So, if the disease is established, then it means you're not being able to discipline yourself. It is very important, highly necessary. before placing anything in your mouth, think once, whether it is suitable or not. Your eat your favorite thing that you liked since childhood, there are memories seated within; So when you see, you just fall for it. You don't think whether it will harm or benefit. For example, it is raining since yesterday. So, now, this weather is such that in this weather one eats curd, disease will be there. In this weather, on eating a cold thing, disease occurs. Ice cream...On feeling hot, he rushes to have an ice-cream. In a highly heated up body... When they feel very hot, then people by putting ice in bucket of water; cool it down and bathe with that water. They say, "Aha! It's bliss!" Heated up body... If you keep on bathing it with icy water, then it will lead to varicose veins in your body. The veins of the leg gets swollen. They pain a lot and after a time the veins start rupturing. They bleed. And bandaging, taking medicines...And so much discomfort has to be borne. And why did this happen? When you, with a very heated up body, bathe with cold water. And see, all these kids who are in games, the ones who play in school-colleges, or the village people who work; farmers... -their body gets very heated up. Then, right away, in a pond, in a well... They jump into that to do away with the heat. The heat surely went away but with that, the body got diseased. So, that's why knowledgeable people have said that do not eat too hot, don't drink too hot, and don't bathe with too hot water. Regardless of how cold it is, never bathe with too hot water. Similarly, do not eat too cold. Do not drink too cold, and with too cold water, it is said... Do not bathe with it. In between, medium... That's it- keep that. Neither too hot, nor too cold. Those who eat too hot food, their jaws will get loose, so their teeth will fall early. Similarly, icy water, iced-drinks. Those drinking more of ice beverages, they get three types of problems. One is their jaws loosen, first... Second, their lungs get a problem. Breathing problems are there. Third, when this cold water, iced water goes in their stomach, this lowers the digestive power. Your digestion gets weakened. And when digestion weakens, then elimination gets poor. So, not too hot, nor too cold. So, to the diet, you should pay special attention. When there is too much heat, then, you due to habit... It feels good to have kulfi, ice cream.. Eat all such... Fantastic...! Recently, in the youth shivir, kulfi was served. Children became so happy. Their age is such they can eat. But seeing a kulfi, if a 70-year old person also starts drooling and... -See a kid is eating...& I will also eat!! He can eat. Who will stop? You have money. Who can stop you from eating? You can surely eat. Then, problem occurs in the stomach! Problem occurs in the lungs. Problem in the lungs... Problem in the intestines... It comes at every place. Therefore, age, and climate, season, keeping all these things in mind, we should consume anything we want. Whenever food appears before us, or you go out somewhere, you have the menu card before you, so think 10 times and if you go to a top-notch place, they give a lot of time... So take your time. Decide. Apply a lot of thought, what to eat and what not to eat! This reflection is important. So, aahara (diet), aushadhi (medicine), asana. These three things. To live a good, healthy, happy life, bring these three As into life. Your life will go well. Here, Ayurveda treatment acupuncture treatment and treatment through yogasanas, all three are possible. Now, in shivir, because there are so many people, that's why attending to all is possibly hard for our doctors. But, take out time according to your requirements, if such need is felt. Then come at any time to stay... Reside here... Umm.. She is sitting right in front of me. Simran-One of my late disciple, Babbu, his daughter. He died suddenly, and she had a lot of issues due to sorrow- Diabetes, thyroid, depression. She kept on crying. She was young... "That why did the father go?" Sudden death occurred. -Hard to accept. She cried & her mother cried, too. So, due to grief, 3 diseases affected her body. Then, I said to her that you can't life taking medications. We called her here itself. She stayed here for a month. She did asanas. A-Asana, A-Aushadhi Hmmm... A-Ahaara... 3 things. So, her Diabetes-2 got controlled. She didn't smile. She didn't laugh. She was grieved, sorrow-smitten. -"How will life move on?" "Father is no more! How will" "we live?" Hmmm.. Then staying for a month, these 3 As came, then laughter also came along. Smiles too came along. Now, she is going so well in studies, going so great in education... In her city, she has topped. She was a topper in her B. Com. exam. Graduation...! Now, studies are going further. So, diabetes... Specially, the ones who are grieved, who are depressed, who keep on over-thinking. Those who are in anxiety, -they get Diabetes-2. And this... Because the body is young-means age is less, 17,18... She has turned 20 now. So, she was 18 when her treatment started. So, the younger the body, the faster the results are. As the age starts increasing, our immunity gets a bit lowered. Our disease-countering power does not remain as good. Cells do not work as good. So, it will take a bit more of time. Errr.. A woman from England had come to me...Was a very successful businesswoman. She owns a radio station there. Her diabetes had shot so much. A lot... Uhhh... So much that for 2 days, she could not see. She couldn't see anything! On the third day, eyesight got restored partially. Doctors advised her not to, but she still came here. After nearly 6 months of antibiotics courses-ear infection, eye problem were there and diabetes is not coming down. There's no energy left. Whole day, she was bedridden. Well, here about one-and-a-quarter of months, she stayed here, and in the third week, she met me in the morning, then she was greatly happy, laughing... -"What happened?" -She said "My diabetes has become normal." Diabetes is normal. Everyday she had to do the test. Now how did it get okay? 3 things-Aahara, aushadhi, asana. the fourth thing also, you can add... because you stay here, then what worry would be there? There's no one to bother also, Neither anyone bothers you, nor do you bother anyone. So, they stay here, worry free, walk, meditate, visit the temple, do pranayama, and just by doing this... Now, her age, I think so, should be... Some 60... in that range... I am not sure. Definitely, it should be close to 60 or 62. In a month and a quarter! So, I told her. See, now a lot of effort is done here. Going back, don't fall into the bog of anxiety, again. Take care of this thing. Neither get anxious, nor leave the asana practice, Keep on doing pranayama, don't miss yog nidra.
