This is such a transforming cycle of time which is going on, where people are giving up their jobs in order to live. Because if he stays alive, only then he can make worthy use of his money & will indulge in something. Staying alive will be a compromised if without precaution, without care, in crowds & gatherings, if one roams & travels, opens his shop, meets people. Strange thing! Meeting people is good but these days 'not meeting' is considered good. Sanskrit Verse - '..na hanyate hanyamane sarire..' Atman does not die with death of the body. Now as such you don't know what the Atman is. 'There is something called Atman which is inside us and never dies'...but you don't know what it is. This is what you've heard, this is what Guruji says, this is what Bhagwad Gita Says. Any direct experience of your own, you don't have. That is why, fear & grief arises in your mind when body is diseased. Until the disease has not come everyone proudly exclaims, 'Nothing will happen to us.' Today morning, one our trust's... He is also a member of the trust. We got his message that in his family, his son-in-law, got Covid. From last 6-7 months they were taking strict precautions, they were not going out. Then one day his children got frustrated - 'Until when do we keep sitting inside?! We will go & meet our friends.' Friends said, 'We are also taking a lot of precaution so let's meet.' Now people who like to party, living without party is like a punishment. So they all met. They might have done this 2 to 4 times. If you remain healthy, you gain little courage, 'See, nothing happened.' North Indians especially Punjabis, have this in their blood. 'What happened! Nothing will happen.' By saying this, they are very... I am repeating this incident- One more person, he works for the Government. He said, 'Tuesdays & Saturdays I worship Lord Hanuman. What can Covid do to me?' He is a bureaucrat so meeting people for official work, traveling etc. was all happening. So he had said such a thing. When he came here, he was not wearing a mask. When he was asked to wear a mask, he said, 'No! nothing will happen to me.' 'I distribute 300 laddos (Indian sweet) every Tuesday & 300 laddos every Saturday.' 'Nothing can happen to me.' Next day we got the news that he got Covid. Lord Hanuman symbolizes intelligence...strength & intellect. So someone who worships Lord Hanuman, should be very intelligent. He should be intellectually strong. He should be a viveki (someone who has wisdom to differentiate truth from untruth). Doing & saying something without even thinking, is not a sign of intelligence. So this gentleman, was hospitalized for 15 days. At present, he is all well & healthy. That is a good thing. So today when, from one more familiar person, we got the news that he got Covid. Then we can only say that he is of good health, he is young, he exercises, he is also someone who takes care of his diet but still, he got infected. Here we have one disciple, who came from Ahmedabad. He is a doctor & a scientist. So yesterday he was telling me in the morning, '80 percent chances are that everyone will get infected.' He said,'We were thinking that it is better if we get it & recover.' Because in the lab, he deals with hundreds of samples everyday. Nevertheless, they were taking precautions, even then they got infected. Both husband & wife got infected. Both of them stayed at home. However, online material that is available and through our app, they were listening to satsangs (discourses), were watching videos, they were getting to learn. They also did mantra-anushthan (taking firm conviction to do Mantra-japa for fixed number of days), many people did it. They said, 'For the first time in their lifetime, we did manta-anushthan. We enjoyed doing the mantra, it was so blissful, we got so much happiness & joy.' So happily they were saying, 'It was good that they got Corona. Due to this we were able to stay at home for 15 days. Otherwise, we are always busy working.' 'Samsara' - Wherever we are living, it is called 'samsara'. What does 'samsara' mean? Where harmonious (in a balanced way) changes are happening, that is called samsara. What does 'sansaran' mean? That which is changing. 'Sansaran' means that which keeps on changing. So where, very efficiently, changes are occurring. Things do not always remain as you had seen them for the first time. When you look at it the next second, some transformation has occurred. Your eyes are unable to see that. For example, today here we have many kids. So this 6 year old child will celebrate his 7th birthday after a year. So did this one year pass in just one single moment or is it changing moment to moment ? Every second, change, change is (occurring). That body of his is changing but parents... In some houses, on the walls, they put a mark on it indicating that now child's height is 2 feet. Now height has increased to 2 feet 2 inches. Now his height is 4 feet. So this measuring (of height) indicates that child has changed. He has grown tall. Sometimes they say, 'Child's clothes have become short..' Wrong! They should say, 'Child has grown up.' Clothes are not short...clothes are same. Well, clothes also do not stay same. Clothes also get worn out. Color fades away, some labels get spoiled, stitches rip up, thread comes out or the button is broken, hook comes out, or it gets a 'tuk' (hole) in it. Tuk means that area of cloth is eaten by an insect, it created a hole. So no such thing is there in this world which will stay same forever. Where everything is changing - 'Samyak sansarnaha' - where in a very balanced way, things are changing and will keep on changing, that is called 'samsara'. So you can look at your own body. 6 months ago, was your body same as it is today? 2 years ago, was it same ? 5 years ago, 10 years, 20 years, 30 years... Whatever your age is, go further back. When you were, say, 2 years old.. You will not even have the memory of that time. When you were 5 years old, you will have some (memory), some memories will be there. So, your body has changed under your own observation. Your parent's body has changed. Right? Things around you have changed. Where there were fields, now houses are built there. Where there were houses, now there are ruins. Where there were ruins, some developer constructed a high-rise building there. Where there were agricultural fields, now a school is opened there. Nothing stays the same! This is what... In Gurbani there is a beautiful hymn - '..chin chin audh bihaat hai, phoote ghat jio pani, chetna hai toh chet le nis din mai prani....' 'Chan, chan' (moment by moment) In Punjabi - 'chin chin'. 'Kshan' in Sanskrit. 'Kshan' in Hindi. 'Chin' in Punjabi. 'Chin chin audh' - 'audh' means age. 'Chin chin audh bihaat hai' - 'bihaat' means passing away. 'phoote ghat jio paani' - it (life) is passing away just like when you keep water in earthen pot.. Water stays in it, water stays in it and then water seeps out little by little through its tiny pores. From pores/holes... From those small holes in the earthen pot, the water just vaporizes or simmers out. Man thinks that... Did you every buy an earthen pot? Or are you all grew up with the facility of a refrigerator? Take an earthen pot, fill it with water.. Elderly people advice that the water which stayed in pot overnight for the first day, do not drink that. Water remains in the pot. In the morning when you look (inside the pot), there is no water left inside the pot. Where did the water go? They say, 'Pot drank it.' Now did the pot drink it or water seeped out of its pores?? Right? And it seeped out so slowly that you will not see it flowing out, or a water pool is visible under it...No, its not like that. Water had just... Where did it go, we don't know. Now this very example that Guru Maharaj gave, apply this on yourself. This body of yours is an earthen pot. This earthen pot has prana (vital life force) as water. This water which represents prana, slowly & steadily how it is evaporated... What does it mean? Your age. Where has your life gone? Tell me. We only sing songs...(Hindi Song meaning) 'When we were kids, we were very naughty...' 'When we were kids, we used to fly kites..' 'When we were kids, we used to play gilli-danda (the stick & peg game/kitti-pul)..' 'When we were kids, we used to play ludo (board game)...' Where has that body gone? Where has that age gone? Where has that time gone? This will be called - 'audh bihaat hai...chin chin audh bihaat hai jhoote ghat jio pani, chetna hai toh chet le, prani nis din (every day)...' Meaning, this is not something that you hear and just forget. This is something that you need to remember every day. What will happen? When some change will occur in your body then you will not be fearful. Why? That is because, in this changing person there is something that is unchanging. In this ever changing body, in this ever changing mind, in this ever changing intellect, there also exists one such essence of truth, which never changes. That non-changing existence, we call 'Atman'. Atman means 'You'. Atman means 'You'. You never change. But your mistake is, you consider this body as 'I'. If there is a change in the body, you say, 'I have changed'. You consider your mind as 'I' that is why when mind changes you say,'I have changed.' Change comes in intellect, but as we have attached our 'I' to intellect as well that is why we even call that change in intellect as 'I changed'. But the truth is... Just as Cycle's wheel has an axle inside it. Due to this axle, wheel rotates. So a wheel rotates and an axle does not rotate. Likewise- This body, mind & intellect all of them change, all rotate but the 'I' in this does not change. When you do not understand this 'I' accurately; 'I' which is associated with the mind, when you believe this to be your true self; due to association of 'I' with this changing body. When body changes the person says, 'Oh! You have changed.' One 75 year old gentleman was saying, 'Now when I look in the mirror, I ask this question- Where did that glowing skin go ? Where is that tight skin? Now I have got sunken eyes. I cannot see properly, I have to wear eyeglasses. While looking at my own face in the mirror, I ask these questions to myself - What changed? When did it change, I did not realize !?' Because you were busy earning money, making a house, in talking, in lying, condemning & gossiping, in trickery & cheating - In between all this play - the body through which you are living, the body with which you wanted to enjoy the sense pleasures... Within this time, your age passed away and your body changed. What happened? He said, 'What happened is one who I am seeing in the mirror, I do not take joy in looking at him.'
