O Gobind, O Gopal, O the Compassionate One The Master of Prana, The Friend of the forsaken The Remover of the sufferings O Gobind, O Gopal, O the Compassionate One O the Most Powerful, The Inconceivable Please shower your compassion on me O Gobind, O Gopal, O the Compassionate One O Gobind - O Lord, your other name is Gopal Gopal means the One who is taking care of my senses, my mind Dayal means You are the Compassionate One Nobody can be as Compassionate as You And I am Your "Laal" - Laal means child So like parent have love for the child, I am your child, O Lord Have compassionate love like any parent would do for me I am seeking Thy blessings, I am seeking Thy love O Gobind, O Gopal, O the Compassionate One It is a dark and deep pit of despair O Lord, please carry me across O Gobind, O Gopal, O the Compassionate One Right from your child birth to this day, your family, your people around you have taught you one thing that you belong to them- that is the mother; the father; the grandfather or this country or this religion or this caste or this race You know who are you The moment, you know, I step out of India - Bharat, suddenly - the way people will see me and recognize me is going to change and their forms, oh my God - their forms are asking you everything You have to fill up all these, you know immigration forms Your mom's name or you dad's name and sometimes your birthday Well, are you going to send me a gift? Why are you asking my birthday? So your birthday, then which city you were born and so on and so many things And then sometimes there are going to be questions like - what is your race? If you go to a hospital or something, then they will ask you - what is your race? who are you? Are you - ah.. So, whether you like your birth country or not but then you will have to write down in the column - I am this So, society just divides you and puts a label on your head Ok - you are Asian, you are in this column; you are Caucasian, you are in this column; you are African, you are in this column You are Black American, you are in this column; you are Caucasian American, you are in this column You know - column, column, column, column, column! People get divided And then people get more subdivided in the name of religion The moment you say, "I am a Hindu", this goes on in every religion actually And people are not only divided, people are biased and they have the attitude that I am superior than you Although, in India we say that agenda is never completed without a 'danda'; Danda means a stick But I don't have any stick but still I have an agenda in my mind and that is to make you realize how we are united with one another Okay, let's begin with "you have a body" - Yes or No? I have too Okay, how many lungs you have? I will be giving you this you know, we call it a "cheatsheet" in India Cheating, cheating - chits, cheatsheet So, I will be giving those because you might not know your anatomy very well So, I will be saying "how many lungs you have?" How many hearts you have? How many kidneys you have? How many legs you have? How many arms you have? A head You have some sense in that? Some intellect in there in your brain or not? Okay, Hmmm So, your blood colour is red? Sure? Otherwise be my guest - put something in Let it ooze out and then you can see the colour- whether it is red or green or brown or black It will be - Red Your topical skin colour might be different but your inside blood colour is all - Red OK - we inhale through nose and we exhale through nose - Right? So, our bodies are same - now let's move little deeper at the subtler level Our body is made of 5 elements Earth, water, air, fire, ether All bodies Not only human body but also animal, bird, mammals, fishes, everything So, the biggest unifying factor is that our bodies are made of 5 elements Okay- we breathe through nose and we are all breathing air And when we breathe in, it is oxygen and when we are exhaling, it is carbon dioxide Same? Not opposite. Sure? Are you sure 100%? We inhale oxygen and we exhale carbon dioxide You have a mind? Say, 'Yes' Good We all have a mind? Yes - now this again a unifying factor - we all have a mind and we all have a brain And you all say "I" You all say - "I" Now "I am happy", "I am unhappy" - that's a different thing State of mind might be different but we all say "I" Now, when somebody talks to you - the question is "how are you?" And you say - no no - do the complete sentence You are so poor in your grammar My question is "How are you?" - answer would be - now I am asking you "How are you?" And you are saying "I am fine" - I am asking you or I? Just think - Just think I am saying "how are you?" So your answer should be "you is fine" If I say "Leela, how are you?" Then Leela can say, "Leela is fine" But Leela cannot say "Suresh is fine" If I ask Leela, then Leela answers - right? So if I ask "you" then "you" should answer Hmm So, how are you? Now, it's strange. See - when I say "how are you", you say "I am fine" and then you ask me, you say "how are you" then I will be saying "I am fine" Strange - the question is going to "you", the answers are coming from "I" So, "I - I" is similar and "You - You" is also similar Now, my point is: how different is this "I" from your "I"? Our minds are different - true!; our bodies are different - true! But our bodies are all made of 5 elements And all minds do one thing and that is thinking And we all have one "I" Or do you have something different? It is "I" Okay - let me take you little step more further If you look very closely in somebody's eyes, what do you see? Hmm? Okay - you have so many people here. Just turn your faces to one another Look deeply in one another's eyes - please do it Please do it! When you look in the eyes, what do you see? Ourself in the eyes of the other person So, that is why "I" becomes "You" and "You" becomes "I" This means "I" and "Your" and One Are you getting the point? "I" and "You" are - One! So I see myself in You and You see myself - in your eyes - and I am seeing myself in your eyes So, we all get reflected back and we can see ourselves in others Bodies are different from one another but still made of 5 elements All minds are different but all minds are coming out of Maya (Cosmic Illusion) So, minds are same And when you say "I", "I", "I" - the "I" is again very similar The Vedanta marg (path) says that - This "I" is a ray of the Sun - the Sun who is God If Sun (S-U-N) has rays, then those- for example even in this hall at the moment, you can see that the sun is coming in the hall But in forms of rays The whole Sun cannot come but the rays are coming, the light is coming, the warmth is coming - Right? So, a ray of a Sun is not different from the Sun If Sun brings light, so does a ray If Sun gives warmth, so does the ray And if God is Sun, then I am the ray This means I have the same element what God has!
