We are living as if just performing a ritual. We are living as if just performing a ritual, few obstacles we encounter & some difficulties.. You get deceived here and you are dishonored but everything else is...? Good! By the hurt/pain inflicted over lifetime, mind is torn into two parts.. Because the world has many sorrows of its own. Hence this world does not share your pain, they just reveal the story of pain. That is why, yesterday I said...I repeat the same- Seek a Master, & attain knowledge & wisdom from the saint and then live your life wisely. One whose life is devoid of a Saint, his life lacks wisdom, so his life has no life at all. When there is no life in the life then man commits a suicide. And you already know how these incidents are on the rise. Someone committed a suicide because he did not get a PR, someone died because he got the PR but did not get the job, someone died because he got the job but received a pink slip after a week that you are not needed anymore, someone committed a suicide because they were not able to get married, and someone committed a suicide because they got a wicked wife so he chose to end his life over living with her. One husband was sharing his own story. He said, 'My wife says that my mother used to get the priest to perform fire ritual in the house once every year. She said that by doing havan (fire ritual) ghosts & spirits leave the house. Your house gets purified. Husband said - 'Ok. When did we marry?' Wife replied - 'It had been 8 years, you don't remember?' He said - 'Well, your mother did a havan 8 years ago & sent the witch of her house to my house. Her house got purified. Someone is unhappy because he is not married, someone is unhappy because the marriage is not working & someone is unhappy because they don't have a child. Someone is unhappy because kids don't listen to them, someone is unhappy because the body is diseased and someone is unhappy because they don't have any sorrow but they still drink alcohol, take drugs, take pills. They are unable to sleep at night. They drink alcohol because they are unable to sleep. They roam around with friends thinking that they will get tired & maybe they will get good sleep after that but even then they are unable to sleep. Remember this - if your mind is filled with attachments and if your mind is filled with hatred/aversions - he will not be able to sleep. Keep your mind pure, you will have a sound sleep. And if the mind is impure... We always tend to blame others. This person did not behave right with me, that person did not behave right with me. This is not right, that is also not right. One gentleman came to me. He said - 'My son is very stressed.' I said - 'Why?' He replied - 'He has done MBBS as well as MD but he is not getting a job. That is why he is very unhappy.' I said - 'Well, if he wants to work then go & work in a charitable hospital for some days.' He said - 'We spent so much. We should also get return on the investment.' So I said - 'If you only wanted to earn money then you should have opened a grocery store. Why did you do MBBS?' Height of foolishness! My dear, in a way, you have been saved because here all is taken care of by Government funds. One doctor in India opened a new clinic. He put a photo of Lord Rama, he also lit an incense stick & prayed - 'O Lord Rama! Please shower your grace. In my area... spread an outbreak of Cholera. If not Cholera then bring Swine flu. If not Swine flu then spread Malaria. If not Malaria then cough & cold. O Lord, if you grant your grace, my business will flourish.' If you get sick then only doctor's clinic runs. If you don't get sick then who will the doctors treat? Flies? He does not even have the tools to treat flies. Listen! Imagine this - Doctor is holding a stethoscope & running after a fly shouting 'Get checked, get checked, get checked.' Fly is flying around and doctor is flying behind her. How can this be a good thing? I suggested - 'This thinking is not right. You did MBBS because you wish to become a doctor.' If a patient comes to him with fever - he will put a drip of glucose. If stomach is upset, give glucose drip. If there is a headache, give glucose. If there is a sprain in the foot - glucose. Glucose will be given no matter what. Antibiotics will be given no matter what. This is his standard format. If patient sneezes - 'Give him a glucose drip.' I said - 'Brother, for few days our charitable clinic...I know 2-4 clinics. You send him there. Some days do it as a service and then he will also get a job.' He said - 'It is of no use as he is in acute depression. He says that he will commit suicide.' I said - 'If the situation has come to this point where he is ready to die, then send him to us, he is of no use to you.' He said - 'I can certainly do that but once he is well, please send him back to me. After he is well please return him back to me.' I said - 'I have not opened a puncture repair shop. You know how they advertise - Get the puncture fixed & take it back home. Now your son's wisdom is punctured, I will fix it & then you take it back - what is the use of this?' He said - 'No, my son is very sad.' I said - 'There is nothing to be sad about, my dear. You are just in a habit of getting sad. Why? Due to ignorance and due to ignorance he thinks that if there is a lot of money then he will be happy. That is why he runs after that. Sometimes if I get this woman, I will be happy or If I get this man, I will be happy. And I have met many students here, they have only one prayer. They are scrubbing their noses in temples & gurudwaras. May I get Permanent Residency. If I get it then rest all will be good. No my dear! You will be happy only when... A very very beautiful saying - 'If you wish to attain everlasting happiness, then go & surrender at Rama's feet. Take shelter of Rama. If you wish to attain eternal happiness then take shelter of Rama. 'Rama' means knowledge. 'Rama' means God. Don't create a conflict over Rama that Rama belongs to Hindu religion so why should we.. Why should we love Rama, we are not Hindus? Well, out of many thousands & millions, this is also one of his name, why are you so allergic to it. Why are you allergic? What for? So these minds that are stuck and closed - you need to open them a bit and take along this nectar of knowledge within you. How will the life go on without jugat (Gyana given by the Master)? To learn jugat it is necessary that we... Gyana is not something to be just heard. Along with hearing, you need to do some spiritual practices as well. Such a practice with the help of which you can keep your emotions in a balanced state. Such spiritual practices with which your restless mind attains peace at once. Such practices with which your mind...Mind that gets anxious, fearful & gets scattered will become steady. 'Jogi jog jugat..' What is that methodology of yoga? What is that method with which we can keep our body healthy as well as our mind healthy? And inside... If there is any existence of God then how can you meet him directly, you will have to gain some knowledge & wisdom about that or not? A very beautiful prose by Kabir sahib.
