मन को शुद्ध कैसे करें l Amrit Varsha Ep1216 Daily Satsang 19th June 21 Anandmurti Gurumaa

From time immemorial the cycle of birth that has been going on this sequence that has been going on that has, in our minds given rise to so many desires filled it with so many samskaras (deep impressions) because of which again and agin we of the world like the glitz and glamour but we do not like peace that is weird so if you have an opportunity to sleep late would you take it? or would you leave it? let's do this, you get an opportunity to sleep late so will you take this opportunity, or will you leave it who is it, who raise your hand , who on getting an opportunity to sleep till late will sleep Yes, yes! those at the back are not answering.... and this side? will sleep! Good great! say they will sleep! okay how many say we will not sleep, we will wake up early in the morning oh my! this small child is raising his hand too, that he will wake up in the morning very good! very good! now let us take the game forward, now those, raise hands, those who think they will not tell the truth huh! we will not tell the truth, about what we are going to do because to save your face, obviously you want to give that answer which will make me happy right? so if I am asking, if you get the opportunity to wake up, to sleep late would you take it and may be you expect, me, that I will be happy, if you say, oh yes! we will not sleep at all we will get up Guruji will be very happy so the answer should not be to make me happy, the answer should be what is making you happy, in your heart I remember, a little girl telling me she said the truth is that sleeping till late feels very good but but if waking up is really necessary, then I will get up because waking up is necessary hence it is compulsion so I will get up but given a chance it is nice to sleep so in this world you will keep getting opportunities to cheat, or to sometimes tell a lie sometimes to fall, giving in to lust sometimes to be greedy sometimes to be angry this is an incident which happened in Punjab, a father-son were sitting besides me in Gurdaspur town so I saw them they were talking to a Satsangi the father was talking very humbly he spoke very politely, sweetly very nicely, just the way one should, as it should be so when the topic came up I said that you were speaking very nicely to that person, so his son could not take it his son said, that Guruji, because you are here that is why, he, my father knowing, you were sitting outside only because of you other wise if even a dog comes and sits under the car he hurls a string of abuses to him too so he said because you are present that is why he is being so cultured now that poor father looked around sheepishly his face turned red then, since I was there right there, he couldn't say anything so the son jumped at the opportunity to tell, that, he knows such abuses that he hurls such swears..... I said no, no never mind now he won't do it and if ever he did now he will not do it but it's a little difficult often I see when people get angry they do not call out abuses abuses just slip out of their mouth then they get flustered and hassled too when someone known to them watches them and and if he too is a Satsangi, then for sure he will check them, hey! how are you talking? it is an old saying, that no matter how much you try to hide and eat asafoetida or eat garlic it will become apparent similarly if we have anger holed up inside however much we may try to hide it somehow or the other that anger either from our manner of talking or body language or gestures of hands and feet it will come out in the open so actually it should be that what is in your mind versus what is on your lips rather than what you say it should be seen what you think so our mindset, should be seen, if our thoughts are in our control, then the tongue will be in control and hands and feet too will be in control the essence is we need to be able to control both our speech and our thoughts speech and thoughts thoughts, what is going on in the mind that no one will know but the words you speak those everyone will hear and your words will be same as your thoughts so both need to be watched, it is only possible to keep an eye on your thoughts and on your language when you are being very calm and in mental quietude to observe what kind of thinking and then what kind of speech comes out of your mouth so it is very important to quieten the mind so be it morning or evening at least two times a day one must for sometime be completely free and sit in silence if possible then at that time do not even chant a mantra mind should be empty, totally free sit with such resolve it will not be easy which is why then I have to say do mantra for sometime to begin with Mantra helps the mind move inward and after sometime drop the mantra and only be watchful of the mind watching it closely, to see what's going on in your mind at that time if some bad thoughts come to your mind, don't begin to think oh! I am so bad, neither get carried away when good thoughts come to your mind, thinking, oh! I am a very good person what ever thoughts cross the mind, just watch them like a witness too much of dirty water, so to purify it what does one need to do? a simple method would be not to do anything let the water rest after sometime it automatically allows the dirt to settle down at the bottom, allowing clean water to separate and float above, this has occurred in Buddha's life once Buddha and his disciple Anand were crossing the forest bare feet while going somewhere on the way Buddha said Anand I am thirsty To Buddha , Anand said 'Lord you sit', 'I shall go arrange some water for you' Buddha said, 'what arrangement' 'do you need to make?, sometime ago' 'we crossed a creek' 'a small creek of rain water' 'you go' 'and get water from there' Anand said, 'that water' 'was so dirty ' 'such dirty water' 'that is not' 'fit for your drinking' Buddha said 'no!' 'Anand you get water from there only' so a little irritated Anand set out in that direction and upon reaching he saw that, that which sometime ago, barely about an hour ago the creek that they had crossed and the water was very dirty, now the same water was not dirty at all now that water was clean so he took a dry leaf made a cup out of it and filled that clean water and gave it to Buddha After Buddha drank the water he raised a question that 'Bhante! how did you' 'know that', 'that water' 'would be clean now?' Buddha said: 'see', 'that water' 'flow seems to have been' 'disrupted by a passing' 'chariot that had crossed it' 'or a few horses or buffaloes' 'or some other animal had crossed' 'who had stirred the' 'soil at the at the foothill' 'which is why all the water became' 'dirty' 'now after some time' 'when you returned' 'so you saw' 'that the water was now clean and clear' 'because in that time' 'no one else had crossed it' 'because behind us or ahead of us' 'no one has come and we are the' 'only we are the only ones to have crossed that creek' 'so, I', 'could make an assumption that by now' 'the mud would have settled and the' 'water at the top would be clean' so from here a meditation formula/technique emerged when your mind is too muddy when your mind is very dirty then for sometime just drop everything and leave the mind alone do not try to correct your mind just sit quietly slowly slowly, all the bad thoughts which had come in the mind and all the bad habits they will by themselves start settling down and your mind possibly will become quiet and pure
