You're not the mind, but you consider self as mind. You're not the body. but, you consider body as you. Then, see, what faces you have! We are Fearful; we are fearful; we are fearful; we are fearful... One of our Mahatmas was saying, He... spent a long time in the Himalayas. There weren't many roads at that time. They He traversed from one mountain to another. Peak to peak. He didn't have any climbing gear. In the feet, no such specialised climbing shoes- the ones with nails- they are also not there He just had a loincloth and his Master remained Avdhoot (the one who has realised the highest truth and gone beyond worldly concerns)- not even carrying a loincloth. Well, in jungles, where he's living, umm... 14,000 feet above (the sea level). Which human being would come there to see if he's unclothed, or clothed, or wears designer suit or what? He stayed Avdhoot. He was an austere; A yogi. Walked peak to peak. If one wishes to go from Badrinath to Kedarnath, then downwards....- otherwise too, there was no road. So, treading on mud tracks, He... didn't choose. traversed from peak to peak He used to reach in a day. He was telling, "At times, it used to happen that, umm... going down on one mountain, climbing down... Now, it is snow clad. Now, if he walks, it'll take time. So, what he used to do.. A huge tree is there Bhojpatra. The leaves of Bhojpatra, He said- Like this, stacked 4 leaves- on top of one another, And sat on that, and chanting 'Jai Siya Ram...' Pushed himself downwards. You are fearful. We'll die. What will happen? We'll die. Afraid of death. I believe there's none more adventurous than the Sadhus. In dense jungle, he's lying alone. Fearlessly. Lives like a king in the jungle. He stays in the cave. -goes from peak to peak. What it means? Sadhu is not there by escaping, running away away from the fear of society. Many people would be! Possibly, a huge percentage may be! That there were problems in the Samsara, business didn't work, wife died or kids... Someone died or betrayed, then, they... In despair they went away and became a Sadhu. Might be... But, the real sadhus, the true sadhu, he is an adventurer... Another, he.. fearlessly counters his fear to win over it. That's why, physically, he keeps himself in situations, where death is right in the front. And he looks into his mind, if there's any fear or not? Is there any fear or not? Just think and see- When you people leave home, you take along food, water, and money for the way Just for sake of experiment. Do this also that you don't take chapati along. nor these... Don't take water, money. Venture out just like that. Highly... means.. dangerous things these are! What should I do? As they come, I say... Can't stop myself as it comes! What reaches the mouth; will say. Nothing's by side (for a Sadhu). Everything's is there and yet you're afraid. Still afraid. The sadhu has nothing at all. Still, he's fearless. Then... someone is offering oil to Saturn, another is appeasing Mars, and what not? -My mars is highly malefic. Just a few days back... very... what do I say? Bad followers meet me. But, Fear and... anxiety, the one living with these, Thinking the mind as "I", is ignorant. ignorance is the root and due to this ignorance, mind seems to be "me", body seems to be "me". and then for this mind's appeasement, -May I indulge in material pleasures, this desire arises. I ask you a question. -Do you... want to eat good food for the tongue...? -Or for your mind, you eat it? Who enjoys? When you eat good food, you're eating for your tongue or you're eating for your mind? -For mind. You're not going into the object world to satisfy your senses. You're going to entertain your mind. Eyes in itself don't have any issue, Or...neither eyes are demanding anything, "I want to see this or see that!" It is your mind, which is saying, " I need to see that!" So, mind is ordering, the senses, the body is going, to get all those objects of pleasure, and satisfaction will come to senses or mind? for mind's pleasure, we consume the food of senses Whatsoever! Yesterday, in the evening, they told me a thing. They said, "A lady," "here, in the dining hall," "was saying," that-Well, today, you know, in today's food, there's no 'shiri'! Our volunteers didn't get it. They asked, "What does shiri mean?" She said, "In morning, a lot!" "In lunch, there's no 'shiri." He said, "Could you explain what 'shiri' means?" "In morning, a bit..." "the kachori with curry, you know, that..." Are you getting it? She did this...! One of my disciples in Canada draws out his entire tongue to say "Wow, Delicious!" Pointing the tongue this way. Drawing out the tongue, then using his finger to point, then say "Wow" She said, "No shiri." Means...spice is less... So, no taste! This taste that you look for, coming to Rishikesh, -is it for the mind or the tongue? And see, to such people, I am reciting- -Nirvishyasya... Become free of objective desires.... and here they are, finding 'shiri'. So, the one who's finding 'Shiri' won't get liberated, for sure! Just for change...! I don't wish to kill your senses, but, just for a change. Mix everything like a renunciate sweet, salt, rice, roti, daal, sabji- everything, together. They will just mix it up. and then, they'll eat. Why? They don't want to entertain the mind. Simple. The more you entertain the master, the master becomes powerful. So, sadhu says, "I will not entertain my mind." Are you getting it? All things mixed together. Sweet,sour... whatever it is, whatever food was found, that So... they mix it all up then, eat it.
