अमृतबिंदु उपनिषद् - अमरत्व की एक बूँद lAV Ep 1619 l Daily Satsang l 27th July 22 Anandmurti Gurumaa

Just as pole vaulter uses the pole runs, stuck it in one place and holding it When he lifts himself up, the pole straightens out and with the support of that he jumps on the other side; there are mattresses placed (where he lands) and how much height did he clocked while attempting that jump on the basis of that he is given marks, In Olympics and Asiad, In Common wealth you must have seen Very nice game Rishi is saying Attain Apara knowledge but then leave it like Today's example is coming in this- like a pole vaulter leaves the pole don't have to leave before, There are so many wise sitting over here They say, first we read so many scriptures with so many hard work, if we have to leave them later then why not leave them now itself It's like A ladder was there in Nathulal's home So his son asked, Dad what is this? He said a ladder Why it is? Says we will go on terrace Then what? When we go on terrace then ladder is no of use Father said Yes son, when you moved to terrace then it's over So both father and son went on terrace son threw down the ladder He said, it's of no use How to come down? hold the ladder so that we can leave it Okay the amazing thing is this Nathu was down, only the boy went upstairs Now father is down and son is up thrown the ladder and it was even broken before throwing- as it is going to be of no use The utility of ladder is certain so to read and learn all these Vidyas is good One must acquire the wisdom contained in them While doing so then you go beyond them like we were talking only this morning that Chant Om .. Chant Om and then it drops One wrote a letter, when we have to drop then why we do we do it? have to do Om, then have to leave; You don't have to leave, but when it drops on in own "If it has to drop, then we aren't even going to hold onto it"- Well, If you don't hold onto it (meaning practice it) then how will you get deep into meditation So this is also an important thing Taking the next Shloka gavam aneka- varnanam ksirasyapy eka-varnata ksiravat pashyate gyananm ligina tu gavam yatha There can be many cows of different colors but yet the milk which from these cows will be of one color Similarly scriptures can be many but finally the wisdom is going to be one only Wisdom is one, Scriptures are many Many time ago, I have held discourses on Bhaj Govindam of Adi Shankracharya then here only you did Nirvanshatakam; Here only in Rishikesh, you did Atmabodh did the Vedanta Sara here Now all these are different scriptures but the gyana held in them is one and the same Listen to Bullehshah All the shabads of Gurbani I sang But In all Shabads- the gyana is just one Now may that One eternal wisdom should falls in our lap and the work will be done! and if that eternal wisdom is not assimilated? Okay, does knowledge means that only words come to the mind? or does it mean that the experience of it should also seep down deep within? All have heard the words like A lot of people have come here for the first time, so they were saying to during the Darshan that bless us that we may know how to sit, Bless us that mediation happens to us! It's their beginning now It's a good thing But what I am saying here that Atman (true self) is the embodiment of bliss and what they are asking? Small children like they have just started- Now our work is for everyone Those who have come here for first time and the one who is listening from 20 years. I have to take everyone along. I said, "Yes, may you be able to sit" Today, the one who will begin to sit While sitting over and over again, the bliss of that eternal name of the Lord will start pouring from inside that ambrosial nectar— It doesn't come in beginning one doesn't have the understanding first See when I was child from this body We went Darbar Sahib (the Golden Temple, Amritsar) to enjoy and roam, it meant getting to eat 'chaat tikki' Gurudwara meant that behind Darbar Sahib there was a 'Kulche chhole' shop Our mother used to take us there, Darbar sahib means eat this.. eat that to do the Parikrama- ritual to go around the sacred building to watch the beautiful fish in the sarovara You know we would just look at those fishes who are there in the Darbar Sahib pond and they would make these faces and we would just copy them We would just run around, there used to be cats in Gurdwara We would just look after them and run after them— no sense that I should sit down and listen to kirtan— no sense of that no sense but you know what going to Gurudwara, listening slowly.. slowly.. slowly slowly a point came, I started liking it A Shivalaya near our house— a pretty famous one! We used to go there We used to get Bananas in prasad Child needs food Where it is found, they will reach there Go to Shivalaya— Shivratri fair used to be so amazing! Let me tell you a real incident— a funny one! It's a funny one— have a good laugh; it's a good thing The incident is such that we I was pretty young and went to Shivratri fair we were eating Tikki there spoon is in the hand and eating tikki and the bomb exploded there Somebody might have planted a bomb there It was a time of terrorism; A very harsh and testing time on Punjab People were fighting with the government and bomb exploded there When bomb exploded then Everybody ran, so we too ran spoons were held in our hands While running and running, when we reached the railway crossing -- they said, how stupid, the spoon is still in hand? Punjabis, you know! Well, better not to ask anything about them! As they wake up in the morning— What will we eat? In afternoon- what is going to be cooked? At night- what's the program? Eat.. eat.. eat all the time, eat and drink; eat and drink eating and drinking people they are ! Eating-drinking and being merry Now, wherever they'll go, something is going on- will get to listen to something Heard for first time that If you sit here and do your Paath (prayers) then what we think, it manifests they sat down; do Paath- do paath then they said, no, here doing Mantra Chanting is even more beneficial doesn't know how to do? Then asked from a Sant- how do Mantra Japa? Dear son, do like this Okay, they started off One must go there like this- someone said go for forty days in continuity okay, went for forty days— listening to Satsang, while roaming in temples and gurudwaras, by frequenting sants and ashrams- see where the journey has brought and made me sit Where! You should go to temples, you should go take your children along You must go to Gurudwara Where else will they learn notion of sewa if they won't go there How? Learn to do Kirtan; If they'll listen, a desire might arise that I should also do this When they'll go through the Gurbani then a thought might arise somewhere, 'what does it mean'? A thought would come or not in the mind? While sitting on paath, this thought will come or not? In the name of modernation the intellect has gone nuts Kids were a spoiled lot already Now a days, I see even the mothers have lost their brains By wearing a western modern dress by donning makeup posts the pictures on facebook It's a Birthday Party; Party means dance and sing then When beer enters into it, When does alcohol comes in? The environment of eating and drinking is around then children are like- since it's the party, we had beer Mother says, no problem son, it's okay! What?? In the house where the father and grandfather will sit and drink, the children of that house will also consume alcohol then and they don't stop at alcohol, they will move on to drugs Be careful! Be careful! Don't spoil the environment of your homes— Don't! You have a responsibility towards the society Good children; cultured children, you ought to raise That's why, don't do the bad work Don't teach your children to do such things Here, extreme caution is required Cows are of different colors, even then the milk is always white in color— whether it is red, black, brown or white cow How's the cow milk? It's white only. Similarly, scriptures are many but in all the scriptures, the ambrosial offering of that divine wisdom is same all over There are those who after reading Japji Sahib will leave on the discovery of that 'Ik Omkara' I request you, please read the scriptures Read the books.... Huh? Should have the knowledge You should have this good habit of reading the scriptures going into depth of it and one after another, the more you study, the more wise you will become Let the scriptures be your true friend they are..! they are..! I am saying this from my heart my love for the books is by heart and all these books of Vedanta and Gyan and Gurbani keep on publishing and people read them and may they go into every home, this is my desire This is my feeling because the one who remains well acquainted with his scriptures, he never gets cheated in his life Never! So one must keep gaining knowledge! If you want to understand what Dharma is, then understand our scriptures, likewise If you are Sikh Make a beginning like this— first of all read and understand the the meaning of first five Banis in depth If you are a Hindu, understand the meaning of Bhagwad Gita very well Then you won't get cheated cheating you know how? This This happened actually In New York One woman went to a departmental store She needed baby powder She was looking for it like this So, it was a small shop many things were there She saw and read 'rice powder' She said, "rice powder?" She asked Rice powder? what is it? What is made by pounding the rice that is rice powder okay then she moved forward, it was written, 'baby powder' What she thought that it is? Has it been made by pounding the baby? So getting panicked, she rushed out of the shop! So one must have knowledge, right? that the rice powder and the baby powder are two different things Strange, it happens! She wanted powder She finds out that rice powder.. How it is made? by pounding the rice This is baby powder! Hwwwww pounded the baby? You need knowledge Don't you? You need ability to understand, what's correct and what's not, what's truth and what's not? So knowledge provides this to us Taking the next Shloka Ghritamiva payasi nigudham bhute bhute cha vasati vijnanam satatam manasi manathyathityam manomanthanabhutena As the butter is hidden in the milk The self awareness resides, hidden in every being to discover it, one needs to churn it constantly churn the mind constantly as we churn the butter milk with a rod to get the butter Atman means 'I am' Atman means my true Self Okay, do you have 'I' or not? What do you think, are you there or not? What? You are? So the Self is there You only need to know that what the true Self is? Is is the Body, the mind, the intellect? What is it? True self exists but how it will be known? so here they are giving the example- 'ghritamiva payasi nigudham bhute bhute cha vasati vijnanam' like butter is present in every drop of milk Isn't it there? It's there, but is not visible
