Is it the body, mind or the intellect? the Self is there but how would one know that? So here, they give an example: 'Ghrtamiva Payasi Nigudham Bhute Bhute Ch Vasati Vijnanam' Just as in every molecule of milk, there is clarified butter Isn't iy there? it is there, but is not visible! how will you find it? make butter out of milk then to the butter........... for butter in olden times, like this they would churn now the machines have come.. Grrrr, and it is done Something will have to be moved, the curd will have to be churned to extract butter; heat the butter and you get ghee (clarified butter) just as in every molecule of milk there is clarified butter but without churning, it cannot be extracted similarly, 'I am' this everyone has but this 'I' too will have to be churned this minds has to be churned and when mind is churned, body, senses, mind and intellect separates meaning butter milk, butter and the residual will all separate similarly, body, senses, mind will separate And the refined intellect is separate and then heat it up in the fire of Viveka then one finds out that 'I am the True Ever Conscious Blissful Self'— that's the Ghee (clarified butter) What an amazing thing! 'Satatam Manasi' 'Manthya' Manthya— what do you have to churn? It is your own mind that you need to churn Okay dear, how to churn it? They said, 'That Guru ji tells'— It the churning of the mind only that is happening right now! Isn't it happening? The churning is happening and you are learning and what will you find? your own true Self or we can say, you will find Para-Brahma, God! where? Within you! but you cannot find without churning Churning is necessary Mathana meaning 'Chintan' contemplation is required to know the truth but how contemplate, who will tell you? tell... who will tell? How to do Dhyana, who will tell? Guru tells What is my real Self? who told this? Who told you? Did you find out on your own? We bought a book form the market, read that book and we got to know everything Oh really? Who wrote that book? Who? Amazing! You should sit like this, speak like this Who taught this? but you don't say it Guru did say it again, Guru did! I didn't hear it I wrote seven inside verses; How much more would I have written? Had to apply breaks somewhere The Guru did, Guru did, Guru did, Guru did, Guru did Guru did let me say it again Guru is not the body Guru is not the body; Guru means Gyana now that Ganges of Knowledge will flow from which body that is play of the Lord, of the Ishwara but Guru is eternal wisdom sometimes he is in the form of Sant Gyaneshwar at times in the form of Sri Nanak dev at times in the form of Ek Nath at times in the form of Tuka Ram Maharaj sometime Meera Bai, sometime Kabir Sahib, Sometime Rehdas at times Rajjab, at times Dadu, at times Charandas Gyan Swaroop is the Guru and that stream of Knowledge keeps flowing and sometimes that same stream of knowledge flows in the form of Bagwadpad and another time in the form of Shankrachayra sometimes that same stream... how many dispassionate, recluse, accomplished sants men and great women have been manifesting in this world from time to time and bear in mind, no matter how dark Kalyuga may be there will never be a dearth of realised ones It can never happen ! This light of knowledge is that Sanatan Satya (eternal truth) this will carry on like this till eternity on this earth greedy, angry, sinners too will live and on this earth, sants and Mahatmas too will live who will show the path of truth This is true as well that the deceits too come in from time to time in the garb of a Sadhu or Guru thugs and thieves too come this too is true, that is why I am saying it is important to read the Shastra's (holy scriptures) it will tell you what is the definition of a Sant Aap Sat Kiya Sab Sat, Tis Sat Te Saguli Utpat He himself is the truth and truth is his world and then Sat Purakh jin Janaya Satguru Tis Ka Naam Tis Ke Sang Sikh Udare, Nanak Har Gun Gao The One who has realised that truth, He is Satguru! Okay, the Ones who will realise the truth, will there be only one or two of their kind in the world? Will there be no one else? No the Rishi of Amritabindu is saying We all can realise that truth All of us can know that truth Meaning you all can reach the order of a Sadguru Let me repeat Bhai Lehna ji went to GuruNanak sahib He asked, what is your name? Lehna Ji (Lehna in Hindi means taking) Maharaj said Mai Dena Ji (I shall give) He lived in the company of the Guru then a time came, in Kartaprur, he took a very difficult test disguised Himself and did what not This is a big part of the Guru Nanak Dev's divine play He left his tresses open, had street dogs following him, Baba Nanak guised Himself in such a way and pelted stones on whoever came everyone ran away, saying Baba has become old now he has lost his mind while Lehna ji kept walking behind because he saw that Master throws a stone but aims it in such a manner that it does not hurt anyone meaning, he was very much conscious that the Master was very sane and he was just enacting a drama What a play he is acting out Everyone ran away only he remained at last the Master had to ask Baba Nanak asked everyone went, you did not go? he said, Master you are showing such amazing drama, how can I not see? leave? how can I leave like that? Where will I see this enchanting act of yours ? Nanak ji embraced him and named him Angad changed his name— From today your name will be Angad You have embraced me took him in his arms like this It is said that then, one night as propounded in the Janamsakhis (legendary biographies) then one night taking Lehna with him Baba went to the forest they spent the night there, in the morning when they returned there was such an illuminance on Lehna ji's face an ethereal glow was there and then Guru Nanak announced that after me, he will take the seat of the Guru and He will share the Gyana It is something to ponder upon what happened in the forest? what happened? more important than that is Guru Nanak sahib many a times tested Bhai Lehna not, one or two, many a tests he took, many a tests and he passed in all those Shri Guru Nanak Dev had tow sons Lakhmi Chand and Srichand Srichand became a Jogi wore a lion cloth and became a recluse with Him started the tradition of going away into the wilderness for long period of time Lakhmi Chand ji led a householders life but Guru Nanak did not pass away the lineage to his sons He gave it ti his disciple in Punjabi, a disciple is called a Sikh 'Ang Lagaya Angad Banaya' people know just this much but a very important incident took place in between people know just this much in that forest, in solitude what did Guru Nanak Sahib Ji tell Bhai Lehna ji ? What did He make him listen ? With utmost humility and with full confidence, I can say my Baba Nanak Dev must have given him the sermon of Brahman Vidya with the experience of Samadhi Made him experience the true Self Made him experience the Brahma That's why, upon embracing the Truth, He became Angad— Baba Nanak said that he's now he's no different from who I am. Do not see any difference between me and him now because the Gyana that is in me, the same is in him too the ethereal illuminance that which is there in me, the same is in him too Dhayana happened by the grace of Guru Realisation happened with the grace of Guru the Guru taught the Yoga all differentiating intellect was dissolved by the Guru the Guru made one realise his true Self the Guru showed the Brahman So, what is Guru? The Gyana, that eternal knowledge that was transferred. Where? to Bhai Lehna ji Why not to the others? Only the one who is eligible will get it the one who is not eligible should remain in Sewa, do Simran slowly slowly, should cleanse the mind It is a process when mind is pure then the person's mind is ready to receive this Brahman Vidya, the higher wisdom until the mind is not pure the mind is not ready to understnad all this We need to make our mind pure the purification of the mind will have to be done love devotion selfless service mantra chanting sit everyday spread your asana and practice Dhyana Sit everyday So self study learn, read this body of yours is the real temple— remember that As you eyes closed here and the mind become still That's it ! It gets connected. To whom? To that Lord who is within you and is your true Self He is not separate from you just as in every molecule of milk there is ghee similarly, in every 'I', there is Brahma Paramatma can not be separate from me I can not be separate from Him Actually when you say, I want to search for God It's a wrong question It should be, 'I want to search myself' Guru says, just search yourself This Self is the abode of Lord so just look what is in you the real you the true you find yourself; look for yourself Today, many people here at the time of Darshan were telling me When we come here, we do everything, it all feels so good when we go back then again all that worldly affairs we get entangled with So, what should we do ? I want to say to you What should I do? What should I do? the decorated platter of divine knowledge, of Brahma Vidya I have presented to you And you say that we cannot even do the eating part? What should I do then? Tell me You will have to get rid of your dirty habits Attachment, aversion, backbiting, indulgence Going mad after the world all the time Bring some discipline in your life Give two hours everyday— you have to sit down do your Pranayama use a mantra of your choice I love all Mantras use any Mantra but sit down so that your mind dissolves in the Mantra or in that Pranayama while practicing, the mantra and the mind should become one while doing Pranayama, the mind should move inward This is something to be done! otherwise It will not be nice thing You all are very dear to me You all are very fortunate You all are very virtuous You are sitting here You are giving time to learn to understand for Gyana you are working hard now this hard work, continue doing it with the same passion when you return back home Fix a dedicated time that this time is for my practice at this time I will not do anything else And begin to sleep early so that you van wake up early now if at the time of your job or business, you'll sit to chant and turn rosary beads, your family will slipper you so, when should you do Sadhana? when the time for worldly affairs has not even started that is why sleep by 9:00 or 9:30 so that in the morning you can wake up by 4:00 or 4:30 am and then easily one and half to two hours for yourself no office opens at 7:00 in the morning school is different, many teachers have come I understand schools begin early but then the day gets over early too by 3:00 or 4:00 pm you are back home very nicely, love your children, spend time with them tell them good things those who have taken Vichar Chandrodya, sit with your children and read make them read too sit in Sumiran make good food inside this body you have to put fuel, add good one keep your body clean, keep your house clean whoever comes to the house know them to be the embodiment of Lord— serve them nicely and well These small-small things are also very important We have heard Vedanta Now we don't acknowledge anyone This will not be a good thing! The one who is smaller than you— be it in the sense of age, wealth, knowledge, strength, intellect The one who is younger to you, give respect to him Respect them, love them, bless them Don't be like a bloated potato Bloated ! on eating potato the stomach bloats, the poor potato itself is bloated many are like potatoes only understood late! With love, with affection be in gratitude Lord has given all— an intellect, mind, body All is His grace— these are to be put to the right use.
