अमृतबिंदु उपनिषद् - अमरत्व की एक बूँद lAV Ep 1622 l Daily Satsang l 30th July 22 Anandmurti Gurumaa

or say Guru Nanak comes in person and he sits and makes us listen to the eternal wisdom then also there is no guarantee that wisdom will happen...why? the mind through which you are listening, if that mind is not right, if there are some problems in that mind then listening and not listening to Gyana will become equal we are wishing, we are asking first see nobody wishes for it because in the Samsara, everybody is very happy there is a happy family, a dog is there, a car is there, a bungalow is there four vacations happen in a year who needs the Lord? Nobody needs Him! One gets to party a little, one gets to drink a little What else is required? In a newspaper, photo get published that he is honourable person of the city; what else is needed? It's enough! Assume that you had gone to temple that this happens by going to this temple assume that temple is of Krishna ji and think that idol of Krishna Ji becomes alive and it starts to talk and says, "O Devotee, have Darshan" Devotee will say, "leave Darshan, when shall I get 1 Cr, tell that" You are needed, you just show your power The truth is, even the people going to Guru as well are not seeking the Gyana everyone searches comfort; searches for their respective comforts He will say, "Guru ji you see to everything" We are just spread at your feet You keep bestowing your grace and may we keep getting the grace of Lord now Guru says, "Son do Sadhana"; "Guru ji you are sitting, right? You do it" We will do job, you do sadhana, give us blessings The story is not made like this; it doesn't work this way so what are the obstructions on the path of Gyana, listen to them the first obstructions of all that is attachment to the objects to what we call object? there is word, touch, form, flavor, smell when we are attached to all these five or anyone of them Attachment to objects is obstruction on the path of Gyana means you have five sense organs, so these five sense organs have five subjects now from these, you see your mind is attached to which object attachment means like how we tie knot, tie rope now a dog tied to a leash cannot go anywhere Okay, the dog saw something at some distance some eatables, some rat, some cat became visible but it eagerly wishes that I must go but until it is tied to leash, it can't go Similarly, if mind akin to a dog is leashed to sensory objects then though it can see the Gyana; Though it can see Guru ji He can even listen to Guru's words of wisdom but will not be able to receive the Gyana— because he is tied first obstruction is attachment of sensory objects that's why, the pada of Kabir Ji which I sang what he has talked about there? He talked about resilience Do you have resilience in you? Have you broken your laziness? Okay one thing is that your attachment forms with objects This is mine This is mine! Some eatable thing is placed— This is mine! Brother, the one who eats, it belongs to him On places— This place is mine In a Satsang hall, people make it— I sit here, this is mine At home as well, it's there; This room is mine, we don't give to anybody. Then I see this, when in Ashram they begin to live for little longer duration there also, the same program goes on— "This room is mine" You haven't constructed the room, you haven't made the bed you haven't made the mattresses whatever things are lying there, you haven't made them You have no give and take in room's expenditure You go a ready made thing to live You are staying— in that as well- 'Mine' But how does this 'Mine' comes? One doesn't get to know This is mine This is mine Now see, for householders there is one room or two rooms or four rooms or five rooms they do setting among themselves that big room is for parents, the medium one they give it to elder child then a smaller one- they gave that to the younger child and in one room grandparents are staying so it becomes a fair deal— there won't be the necessity, there won't be any fighting here But there also, this thing is mine I am not giving, this chair is mine in drawing room, there are four seats, six seats I will sit on this seat...they will fight over this there was a golden cup at a home not of gold, it was of golden colour there was a golden cup One said, "This is mine, serve me tea in this" Another one said, "Give me in this"— So four children pounced upon to snatch it from mother's hand, "Give it to me; give it to me" The cup broke Thereafter mother beat them up with shoes They broke the cup itself; What way is this? What does it mean by 'Mine, Mine'...Now drink! Now in what you will drink? so there are attachments in things that's why our Mahatmas said should keep doing charity from time to time and people thought, we have to donate So buy rotten bananas from market and donate They go and ask at shop, "Which fruit is cheap, give that" "we will distribute it, donation done" No! This is not called donation What is called donation? Your dearest thing that is there, give it! A person was saying, "My wife is dearest" Should I give her? To whom shall I give? I said, "There is no need to give your wife" but don't keep this right on wife that I can't live without her, I can't survive without her She is as dear as my life Don't keep such thoughts for her I am not telling you to leave your wife We are talking about the objects— the things here 'This is mine', this is also objective attachment be it applicable on the objects or on person attachment of objects is the biggest obstruction (on the path of Gyana) second comes mind's Vikshepa—this is obstruction on the path of Gyana If your mind is deranged if your mind is flickery now what do we call a fickle mind? In which the waves of anger arise It's fickle In which mind aversion arises that is fickle Okay, the angry person also has a wondrous play going on He became angry, he will shout he will scold, abuse, do everything because since there is attachment also that's why whom he abuses, after some days he does patch up with him also; leave the matter; let's do friendship No problem, brothers fight, leave it after some days, he'll fight again After a few days, he will again do settlement This goes on...this is so foolish! It's like you slap somebody and then you say, "I am sorry" then another day, again you slap and you say, "Oh I am so sorry" then again you slap, "Oh I am so so sorry" Would this person accept your sorry? Can that person accept this sorry? First abuse then say, "Oh, I was angry, so leave it now" "what has happened?" What happened? Nothing has happened, it is only your mind has lost it! The mind in which the memory of old events always remain now fickle mind means the one that moves The mind is moving and stable means, the mind is still So fickle means sitting and remembering old things this had happened, this had happened 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 40 years ago, 50 years ago The people who have crossed 60 (years), they definitely say it but I saw that it has nothing with age It is there, partly it is there because he has a long story of his life, he has lived so much he has seen so much and when you think old things then you see from your own experience don't go on my saying when you remember some old event So you overcome by grief on remembering some event or not? If it would be sadistic thing then grief; if it would be happy event then happiness if would be an event of laughter then even today you will feel like laughing out that loud Leaving the present, as soon as the mind slipped into past, it became a fickle mind! or leaving the present, mind went to future may this happen, may that happen the imaginary races of mind that go on this also is the sign of a fickle mind so when mind doesn't remains in present this we call fickle mind and this fickle mind is the biggest number two obstruction on the path of realising Self obstruction means this is the second reason, first is being too obsessive for the sensory pleasures second is if your mind is too disturbed and it's not concentrated— this is an obstruction then third thing comes is 'buddhihinam', the one who has less intelligence Has less intelligence means? See, to understand Vedanta, a very refined intelligence is required often in school, if you ask people to students that which subject you find tough Out of 100, approximately 90 students will say, I find maths difficult It's very difficult, it is difficult to grasp They say, "rest are manageable..Hindi, English, Social Science— they are manageable" They say, "This Maths is very difficult, very tough" Why it feels difficult? Because intelligence is required there now we don't want to use intelligence we don't want to put in efforts in order to use intelligence see, your mind at that time, whatever Maths question you want to solve you need to connect the whole mind to it— means the mind shouldn't be wandering here and there A tutor was giving tuition to children; children were sitting on ground around him He gave a question to children to solve the question was that if anybody has 20 sheep out of 20, he sold 4 to someone he gave 6 to someone on rent to whom he had given on rent, he will take INR 50 daily to whom he had sold, he got INR 400 in return so calculate how much money he has so now children are calculating, he has sold 4 sheep okay he has given this many okay while they were thinking this, a Golgapa seller was going past in the front A child's vision went there, mouth is saying, "Eat" forgot sheep, forgot calculation child is seeing there, from back, he got a slap from tutor What are you looking at? Did you calculate? He said, "No" He said, "how much did you calculate?" He said, "It's almost completed", Tutor says, "Then say it"; He said, "ten golgapa" then he got another slap Why Maths seems difficult? Similarly, why Chemistry seems difficult? because in Chemistry, its symbols need to be remembered Its formulas need to be remembered and when you remember those formulas at that time, the difficult terms that are there it's difficult to remember those terms, that's why people find Science difficult finds Maths difficult, but let me say one thing, the one who finds Maths difficult who finds Science difficult he will find Vedanta even more difficult in Maths there are still questions, numbers are there, written on the paper. Here, nothing is written on paper, everything is subtle Like while eating, something stained your mouth, how will you see it? Somebody is needed, right? The one who will show it to you! Now similarly, body is visible, mind is not There is "I" in body Guru ji is saying, "I am not body" Really? How is this possible? So here come the doubts in this Guru says, "The Adhyasa has happened" listeners says, "What? What has happened?" Now they are not understanding the word then I explain Adhyasa means this (Superimposition) Just raise your hands, how many of you have done 'Vichar Chandrodaya' Rest have not done it? Oh! Okay, show up your hands once again Okay! Neha, "What is called Anyonya Adhyasa?" now when we don't know the answer, in this, whom should we blame? To memory? Which didn't remember or to the intellect, which hadn't understood?
