One of my followers met me in Toronto. I asked them, "How's your mom?" She said, "Ji, she's left!" I asked, "Where?" She said, "Ji, gone!" I asked, "Where?" She said,"Left forever!" I asked,"Where?" "Did she go back to India, permanently?" They replied, "Ji, not so! She's just" "left the world itself!" I said, "But, my question" "still lingers on-where did she go?" They said,"Ji, it's not known!" Everyone hopes just this that they have left for the heaven! Ok, where's the heaven? What's its longitude, latitude? Do you know? So-Dil behlane ko khyal Ghalib achha hai! (It's a good way to amuse the heart!) It's not necessary that you go there where you think they must have gone. -Agli kicch khabar na payi, rovanhaar bhi uth sidhayi... -Where did he go, the dead one, it's not known. And the ones who are crying, how long they will cry? They'll cry for a while, then say, "Move on, move," "The one, destined to go has left. Let's" "open the shop. Go back to the house" "bake your bread." You know... "Leave it!" "Leave it!"- The family itself would say- -"Leave it, now! You don't cry...!"- They'd say. "Let him go!" The Lord's existence is for all time! Or let me say this way, the time itself is the Lord! The word "Akal Purakh"- appears in Gurmat, no? -Akaal Purakh. The one that is beyond the kaala. That is Akal! But, this isn't a big deal. The kaala is an imagination. The kaala is not truth. The kaala is false in itself. From the false, the true Lord cannot be described. Kaala changes. Kaala means time. Time changes. So, this changeable, inert kaala, with time, if we describe, the Almighty, then it cannot be right description. But, to understand, at least some issue needs to be considered. So, this issue is also good-Our body doesn't stay forever. The Almighty stays forever. The body doesn't stay forever, But He stays...So, the body that doesn't stay, do we think and worry about it? Or the one who wouldn't ever die and always remain, we think about, we reflect on that, we remember Him, It's a strange thing, no? We always... our mind what bothers it?-The ones born in kaala. -The ones born out of Kaala. -The ones who are visible in kaala. The ones who will change with change in kaala. When your mind would be entangled in that The mind can't stay worry-free, mind can't stay pacified. So, look into your mind. And ask this question to yourself that can we even join our mind with that Akaal? Do we know how to join it or not? Now, your mind is always thinking in the range of time. What happened? What will happen? Where it happened? And how it happened? So, three things get involved. -Time, space and the activity. -Kriya. -Time, Space And Kriya- The activity. Your mind cannot think beyond all these three things only. It is limited to just think about time-what happened in my childhood, what happened in my young age? Or what will happen in my old age? Or what will happen when I will die? Or what will happen after death? Either, here or there... Never, here.. in the moment... In the present. That which has passed, he'll remember that or the time which hasn't come as yet, he'll think of that. The mind is never in the present. Mind is never there. And with spiritual practice, if someone learns this that how this mind can be brought fully in the present? Then this mind will be absolutely quietened. It will become thoughtless. It can become thoughtless. But, staying in the present, how it's done, you don't that, then the mind will always keep running. Make someone shut their eyes. Yesterday, a young girl was asking me that how should I focus my attention when I am studying, at that time. I can't remember things, mind wanders around. Children say, during study; you people say, when doing prayers then mind doesn't focus, wanders around, what to do? It's the same thing. -Mind doesn't focus. What to do? When you watch a film, Then, at that time, is there any problem that mind is not focusing there? Whenever you went to any cinema. A man came out of a cinema hall, calling out abuses- What a nonsense film it was! How nonsense a film it was! I lost my mind! It was such a wasteful movie! Another man said, "Well, if it was so nonsense, then you could have left it, earlier! he said, "Gee! I've spend 5 dollars on it!" I have to recover my money, no? So, he's also watching, calling abuses as well! But, if the cinema is good, of your interest, then, a 3-hour long Hindi film, when does it end, you don't come to know, And people say "Well, had it been longer, we would love!" What happened after their marriage, they didn't just show us, if they told us, then how wonderful it would've been! Then they bring a sequel. Okay, next movie, come, watch then, we'll tell what happened next. While watching cinema while watching TV, you never ever feel troubled that mind doesn't focus. But, in remembrance, chanting, prayers, your mind does not just focus One thing is for sure. you love cinema more. Not the Lord! If you had loved the Lord even 2 %, then at least 2% of your mind would focus. But, it doesn't ever focus that much. Did you ever see, people play poker, cards; well, hours pass! Whole night they will pass playing poker. Never do they, "Yikes, back pain" They watch cricket match; sitting for for hours, they don't eat, drink whoa, the ball hits a six... here comes the ball, here this comes.. here that happened... How great interest! You're on the edge of your chairs when you're watching your sport, when you're watching a game. When you're watching a film. Your mind is never complaining that I cannot concentrate on it. How should I concentrate on it? Nobody has ever asked me I'm going to watch a movie, please teach me how to concentrate on the movie? You all have that knowledge. But, while doing spiritual practice you have a need to ask this question. Then, you say, "Well, our mind does focus!" "How to focus it? Mind doesn't focus!" Then, I.. I find this easy to say that "Well, wherever it focuses, let it be there! Leave, move on!" Why should you do it? One gentleman was saying, "Eat, drink, be merry," "Wreck be to Ultimate bliss!" "What will do of Ultimate bliss? It's a joy to eat, It's a drink, playing cards, dancing, huhh... boozing... being gluttonous, you're enjoying Just take this joy, and who has seen, before & after (death) is all nonsense, its not truth at all! This is what we say -Bhogwadi (epicurean) people. The mind, trapped in this, sensualist pleasure, cannot ever live in peace. It will cry today also, it will cry tomorrow as well! Crying is certain. Now, I want to talk a bit ehh... The beautiful aspect that comes into someone's life, I will say a bit about it, now! And it is that, the one in whose life, a sage comes... A sage means... -The one seeing whom, you remember the Almighty, that one is a sage. The one, hearing whom, you get reminded of the Lord, that is a Sage. So, the ones, in whose life a sage comes, And he listens from the sage about true knowledge; Kabir Ji states,"Laaga morey" "baanh kathin kar-" ka. "Laga morey baan" I've been hit with an arrow. And kathin... means very hard, it hit... And karka... Karka means that which you say in Punjabi, or Hindi, kadak (strong)... So, it is Benarasi Hindi, where they call it karka... But, what's the meaning? -Kadak. Kadak means very strongly hit. "Gyan baan" "dhar sadgur maara" "hirday maahi samaana..." Which arrow did Guru hit you with? -The Guru has hit the arrow of knowledge. Where did it hit?-In the heart. "Beech karega peer" "hot hai, dheeraj nahi" "dharaana." Now, my bosom experiences a pain, and no one can comfort me. "Kariya" "kaate jeeya re bhai, Guru" "kaate mar jayee..." Kariya means... A worldly man kills someone with a knife... He may survive... But, if Guru kills, then, can't stay alive. He will just die. Here, dying means what? Death of the ego. Here death means, death of ignorance. maybe, you can't comprehend the words... So, I will simplify it a bit more. Agyana means foolishness... The one whose this, idiocy ends... "Jinke laage shabad" "ka danda, tyag chale" "pachaayi..." Ahh! The one who gets hit with the staff of True Knowledge, he frees himself of all the wild entanglements. "Ye duniya" "sab bhayi deewani, rovat hai" "thanka..." All... He says... have gone mad. Money, money, money, money, money, they are after it... "Daulat-duniya chhod" "diya hai, bhaag chalo" "ban ka..." And Kabir says, "I have left" "money and treasures." "I have left the madness. And now," "My mind is like..leave, go" "away..."- Where? -To the forest. 'Ban' means... -Not necessary that I got to the jungle. Ok, did you ever go to the jungle? Around you there are many wonderful places. If you go on trail, then there are jungles and jungles... Banff, Jasper... All of it is just a jungle. So, are you alone in a jungle? Not so! There are bears... [Guruji laughs] Bears are there, and elf is there, moose is there... Many kinds of other small and big animals are there. So, even if you go, in a jungle it's that you're alone there. So, what's the jungle where Kabir is saying to go? -Inside the mind, as quietude descends, this is the jungle. Inside the mind, no worrisome contortions remain- This is the jungle of the mind. "Chaar dina ki hai" "zindagani, marna hai" "sabka, kahe kabir suno bhai" "saadho, gaafil" "hai kab ka..." 'Gaafil' means unconscious. Since when you've been unconscious and till when will you be unconscious? When would you wake up, dear one? And understand this thing, this arrow of true knowledge must hit the heart. And he says about himself that I've been hit! Highly fortunate ones... Aha! Greatly fortunate are the people who get such a statement of Guru's Knowledge, that it hits the chest in such a manner, and when this arrow hits then, all the race for this world stops! This short life, the enlightened one lives in such a way that it will never ever end. Deathless... Endless, with the knowledge of the true form, he lives. But, on the level of the body, when he sees it, its a short life. But, on the level of the real self, if he sees, then, at that place, death can't even touch. Because, in your true form, real self, you are unborn Ahhh! You are beginning-less, True one, conscious one, true bliss... That's why wise folks do not get entangled. Wise people tread on this path of true knowledge. They earn true knowledge. And they only light the lamp of true knowledge within. Now, the one who has flame of true knowledge in them, he won't wander in the darkness of this world. Because, he has light with him. And the one who has his light along. He, at every moment, at every step, lives his life absolutely without any fear, worry, blissfully! So, you just leave one thing. That is foolishness. The one who is going to die, don't try to make them stay. And the one who won't ever die, never leave his side. All your life's problems, will get absolutely resolved, just with this. So, at all times, whom should you remember?- The mortal or the one who is immortal? So, whom would you keep in the mind? -The one Aha! The one who will perish, or the one who won't ever perish? The path of this True Knowledge... you collect it, these words of True Knowledge, this energy of True Knowledge, And then you understand one thing, you may speak in any language or you may believe and conduct as per any scripture, the Truth will remain same, it won't get changed. Just one question from yourself- -That, whether we can take off this mind from worldly thoughts for some time, taking it into quietude? Or we can't do it? So, how to take this mind into that quietude reaching where the mind halts, reaching where, the mind stops. Where there remains no despair, attachment. is it possible while living Or only death will bring peace? Many people will have it just by dying. But, in this discourse, I want to teach something where you can be embodiment of peace while living also. No one gets peace by dying, in reality. The mind stays as devilish in dying as it was while living. Just the problems that were there in the body, those vanish. So, does not remain visible... So, everything seems, "Oh it's nice!" You know. Someone asked- that... Fufad ji (aunt's husband) had died. Fufa Fufa had died. So, he called, "So, Fufa Ji's left?" They replied,"Yes, he's gone?" "So, what's he doing?" "They said, "What's he doing?" "He has no program, no appointment" "to attend. He's not going anywhere" "nor anyone..." So, anyone who comes, he won't even come to know of them. So, what is program? -There is no program. Fufa's all programs got blown away. There is no program. The one who blows away the mind, only that one is dharmik (truthful). The one whose mind is alive, whose mind wanders, whose mind only thinks, I call just that one adharmik (blasphemous). Visiting shrines won't make you dharmik. By death of the mind, you will become dharmik. Mind dies means mind quietness.. The one whose mind becomes Bereft of deformities steady and peaceful- that one in this human life, alone experiences bliss. He never becomes a figurine of despair. Where I started the thing, I'm ending it there... He himself becomes a figurine of bliss. Anandmurti does not mean this body, dear one! Anandmurti means the one whose mind stays steeped in the bliss of the one Lord, his body also gets blissful. The body's attribute is to perish... But, despite that, in this perishable body light the shining flame of True Knowledge, dear one! Only then, this life will be bliss.
