Reflection seen in the mirror looks old. But if I don't look in the mirror - I feel as if I am absolutely unchanged. It feels like everybody else has changed. She said, 'When someone says - This person died, this person passed away, that person died. Then I say - Yes! Indeed the death is certain. Its ok, he had to die. Then everyone starts asking - What is your age?' She said - Once my niece came to meet me. Niece came & remarked - 'Aunt, you are still alive?' 'That everyone has passed away & you are still alive.' She said - 'I was so angry that I felt like smashing her head.' Turning 84 does not mean that I should start counting my days to death. Very vibrant lady, very vibrant. She said - 'Internally, it is still absolutely same. What had changed is the body.' I said - 'Mother, Vedanta teaches exactly this. Body changes. You, the Atman - does not change. Mind changes. You the Atman - does not change. And the one that changes - is a world, is a dream. One that never changes - you are that. Bhagwad Gita verse - 'Avinashi tu tadviddhi yena sarvam idam tatam, vinasham avyayasya na kashchit kartum arhati. Nainam chhindati shastrani, nainam dahati pavakah, na chainam kledayantyapo na shoshayati marutah.' That which cannot be pierced by weapons - that Atman is you. That which water cannot wet - that Atman is you. That which cannot be divided into parts - that very Atman is you. So when he realizes the Self, he learns the truth of his existence. Only that person can say with conviction that his body along with the whole world is just a dream. Without Atma-gyana (Self-realization) - world will not seem like a dream. Even if I give you 100,000 proofs, you will still bring up a new argument. That is why, Self-realization is a prerequisite. Only then this body along with the whole world will be seen as a dream. It is not something to believe. It has to be realized. Belief can change. How can you change the realization? So it is important to realize the truth. Anandoham kirtan that we do - lets do that towards the end. Because the topic is such that we will have to complete it. Anandoham (I am Blissful)... If you identify with the mind then you will certainly feel happiness & sadness. Mind is mind - if someone praises you, you will become happy & if someone scolds you then you become unhappy. Little money is gained - you become happy. If money is lost - you are unhappy. If you are living identified with the mind then life is nothing but sorrow. If you are living identified with the body even then life is full of unhappiness. Sometimes he is ill, sometimes he is well. Sometimes fat, sometimes... One elderly lady was obese. She said - 'Even drinking water adds to my weight, what to do? Everyone calls me fat. Even the water adds to my weight. Even the air I breathe, it increases my weight by 2kgs - people taunt me.' So if you live as a body then you will be unhappy. If you live as a mind then you will be unhappy. But if you live as your own true blissful Self, as your Atman, as your pure Self... That which is called Sat-Chit-Ananda or the one that is called as Sat-Shree-Akal, one who lives his life knowing his own Self as Sat-Shree-Akal, his life is forever blissful. Bliss, bliss & pure bliss! Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Anandoham (I am ever blissful). Satchidanada (truth-conscious-bliss). Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). Nitya-anada (ever blissful) Parm-ananda (I am supreme bliss). See how much has to be done. You have to experience Paramatma so that you can do simran. Self needs to be realized so that you know - you are not body, senses, mind & intellect. And 'Who am I?' - I need to gain this knowledge. This world is a dream, you have to experience this. Look, so many things need to be done & you are caught up in doing your job! This itself is the ultimate goal of life, my dears. Rest are just your obligations. People say they have obligations - what obligations? No matter how much you earn - you will only eat 2 rotis (Indian flat bread). If you eat 10, you will get sick. If you start eating more paranthas (fried flatbread) then doctor will say - 'Stop overeating, go on a diet.' That is why - Rukhi sukhi khayi ke (Eat simple food) thanda pani pee (and drink cold water) dekh prayi chopdi (Do not look at the buttered bread of others) na tarsayin jee (and long for it). Here everybody is longing. You long for money and then one day you will long for peace. That is why, earn money, surely do it. Make your home, surely do it. But always remember, the objective of life is not all this. The objective of life is that we should know - What is Paramatma? Where is Paramatama? How can you experience it? So that the veil of ignorance is lifted & Atmabodh (Self realization) can happen. And you keep on roaming like a beggar all the time. 'Give me happiness, you give me happiness.' Then she replies - 'I will give you nothing but my footwear.' Yes! People do say such things. They say - 'We will not give you any happiness.' Selfishness it is! You make me happy, I will make you happy. You go around begging happiness from everyone. But the fool does not know that ever blissful Paramatama is forever within you. So enjoy the bliss of Parmatma. Will you need to beg for happiness then? One who abandons begging for happiness that person is called 'Swami'. 'Sanyasi' means 'Swami'. Swami that is added to your name, that is because you have found the bliss within - there is no need for external happiness. Fulfill your duties in the world outside. But the aim of life is the end of ignorance and attainment of gyana. Saying this - I rest my speech & we will meet again tomorrow.
